In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Should I cancel my order due to vibration issues

@Telluride650 , if possible, take a normal car. Any car breaks down, only manufacturers react differently. Why do you think Koreans are more stuffed and less cheaper? If Koreans have normal customer service, it will cost more and who will buy it then? So it's up to you whether to play or not.
I’m beginning to think you work for Dodge or Ford...

I wouldn’t say only Korean manufacturers put up a fight when it comes to paying out warranty claims. I had an Audi with regular warranty as well as extended warranty after the regular was up. There were times where I would bring my Audi in for one issue and while being repaired the service tech would create a new issue in opening up the car. For example, while cleaning the plenum drain, cracked my scuttle drain cover and blamed it on environmental damages.

The biggest gripe was that I had a long standing issue with water leaking into the cabin for years. Then later had a hit and run in a parking lot while I was in store. Bumper was damaged. When they finally found the root cause of the water leak in the future they wanted to blame it on the hit and run and denied covering the repairs for the unrelated water leak.

So any dealer can make it hard to cover repairs. Not just Kia.

I have an April 2019 delivery EX AWD. I frequently drive at 75-85 MPH on highways. NO issues. As others have said dont let a few rampaging posters scare you off. Test drive it if it makes you more comfortanble.
Rampaging posters?

Poor choice of words there buddy. Maybe something along the lines of concerned posters would make more sense...

I've had mine for 19 months and 11..5K mi. No vibration issues.
Just do it.

Enjoy the ride

We have had our S AWD and just hit 30k mikes on it and haven’t noticed it. We have driven a dozen or more 6-10 hours drive often above 80 and never noticed any vibration.

I ordered a Telluride SXP AWD in August. It is now in transit to the dealer. However, after reading the thread regarding vibration issues many seem to be having with AWD, I feel reluctant to pull through with buying the car. Looks like this has been an ongoing problem and Kia hasn’t addressed the issue.

Does this seem to be a small batch issue? Or do many people just not notice or care about the vibration? For those who dealt with the issue, what would you recommend?

I was very excited to get this car and for it’s arrival in about 2 weeks, but I also don’t want to be stupid about it and be stuck with the stress of getting the issue fixed if it happens.
I hope you have enough feedback here to make the appropriate decision!

So far it's notable the issue is rare - even amongst that are new builds like mine.
Test drive the hell out of some AWDs in your area if you are worried.
Take it on the highway upon delivery. If for some God awful reason you get one with the vibration then you have the upper hand at the table...point them to the Palisade TSB or hell just have them search 2021 vibration in their system and I'm sure it comes up...force them to diagnose/fix it right there or don't accept delivery.

The last fact that should be considered is that Kia isn't the...greatest at dealing with Warranty issues but what car company really is...comes down to profits.

When you get to the point of encouraging an NTSB campain and encouraging a clsss action lawsuit, thats a rampage. See Bev. Yes I'd be unhappy if I had a serious issue, but a design flaw woulkd mean that every AWD has/will have issues and that not happening. To me the AWD has advantages over the FWD so hate to see all this angnst from people about to take delivery.

Campaign? People aren't getting the issue fixed so what they just sit back and take it in their rear end?

I told this person that I would still buy it. Anything is fixable. Also noted that I don't think this is a design flaw...I'd say I'm staying in middle lane here so I take offense to your poor choice of words...

Being one of the folks with vibration issues I'd still buy this vehicle because anything is fixable.

Just take it on a highway before you take delivery and/or go test drive a bunch of AWDs.
Hey. just newbie to Tride family - It's been week i got my Tride and haven't chance to drive on freeway. May i know what kind of vibration we are talking about ? TIA

2020 S Model, AWD, 3,500 miles since August. Several long highway trips, no vibration at any speed.

This is a bad take. Have some empathy for someone who was dealt a bad hand. There’s sufficient evidence here that something in the drivetrain is flawed and a claim with NTSB is not unwarranted. I will likely do the same.

I, for one, think it’s helpful to see the downsides expressed publicly here. For all the accolades and reviews the Telluride gets, it is not without weakness and the flaws are useful to know.

Eg

The dealer network is weak - whether it’s the pricing dynamic and shitty sales tactics (with some fantastic exceptions here), or the low service level, it’s clear the dealerships haven’t caught up with the evolution of the brand. That’s going to take years to shift. Bev’s story is a good example of a bad vehicle + bad dealership experience that made for a disastrous ownership. People should be aware of that.

Parts and assembly are questionable to me. I had a poorly installed rear glass and my dealer told me they’ve received others like that too. My side camera still flickers after 3 repairs, and others on Facebook have similar issues. The relatively lower price of Telluride vs competitors implies some parts must be cheaper/lower quality for the economics to make sense and so far I’ve seen this play out. This is still a new vehicle and the kinks haven’t been worked out.

While I’m at it, one of my biggest concerns is the recent software update and how terrible it seems. Modern cars are more than an engine and wheels, and are much more of a software experience as well. I’m somewhat skeptical that Kia will deliver a great experience over time. Hard to imagine wanting to keep using this infotainment system a few years from now.

These are things you won’t learn from press and YouTube videos. It takes ownership and candid discussion over time to learn them, and I think it’s helpful for prospective buyers (especially those who are stretching their budgets and/or buying from dealers hundreds of miles away) to see it.

Here is the ongoing thread about the issue.

Complaints range from the slight feeling of driving over a pebble road to full on pedal and steering wheel vibration. All tends to happen driving at speeds above 60 mph.

Have some empathy for someone who was dealt a bad hand.

Well said. When a dealer refuses to fix your 10 year warranty covered car, I think anybody would be just as frustrated.

Thank you all for your helpful feedback! Unfortunately, I ordered my Telluride out of state and was planning to have it delivered since it’s winter. With the whole pandemic and what not, my fiancé or I are unable to fly to the dealer for a test drive. So we’re likely going to have to cancel our order and just try ordering locally so that we can test drive. It really sucks, but we don’t want to take the chance on it and want to take the safer route.

Your call of course, but realize that despite the large number of posts here, its only a handful of members that have confirmed to have this specific issue (others may have vibrations for any number of unrelated causes - overinflated tires, alignment/balance issues, etc.)

Most dealerships offer some sort of return/remorse policy where you have 72 hours and no more than 500 miles to return no questions asked. I would check into this before canceling. We bought ours in June 1, 2019 and been great for the 30,000 miles.

We have 2200 miles on our AWD 2021 EX. Other than a dead batttery a month into owning it that they replaced under warranty, zero issues with vibration

I'll confirm that we picked up our car today, it has AWD and that I drove it over 130km/h without any vibrations noticed. The ride was about an hour and a half and it was very enjoyable.
