• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Right now, I am 2/3 of the way through a year's subscription for $4.99 per month ($6.36 with taxes and fees). It will expire in October, at which time they INTEND to up my charges to $24.20 per month (before taxes and fees). Guess what is going to happen at that time? HEH -- take this plan and shove it!

I will play the silly game of cancelling, not responding to a month or more of emails and phone calls. Followed by MY offer of reinstating my $4.99 plan and probably their accepting of it.

Anyone else been through this wringer?

Love it or not, I'm always going to use XM and it's a staple. I also have a premium Spotify account for the entire family. My semi-grown kids are all on the account and prefer Spotify over XM so their subscriptions are long done. It's a game that I use to play every 6 months. I just told them I want the introduction package ( like $50 for 6 months) and I'm paying and not leaving a card on file. If you do, the rate immediately goes to full price after the 6 months with no notice other than you credit statement. They changed the last time I called and I got a greatly reduced fee per month ($9?) that now doesn't expire but the do have my card on file.

I unfortunately have a card on file, but the date for Sirius to expire is etched in memory. They WILL be getting a cancellation from me and I'll just go a month or so without.

They will try to ask for an activation fee plus prorated charges if you renew. Just keep telling them no and they will remove them.

Right -- been through this several times, been with Sirius since 2008.

We bought two lifetime accounts back in the 90's ($500 each) and it included XM internet. With the class action lawsuit, I can change the radio for just $35, unlimited times. When we bought them, it cost $75 and was limited to only 3 transfers. I think we're getting our money's worth.

I have been using xm ever since it came on the market. Remember those stand alone receiver's you needed to install and route the wiring for the power, antenna, and possibly the audio output? initially a cassette tape adapter them various fm broadcast ones. Bluetooth was a dental condition in these days. Never knew about a lifetime membership? Yes that was a great deal.
