• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Snow White Pearl vs Glacier White Pearl

So I ordered my SX-P in October of 2019. Still don't have it. As 2019 drew to a close, I was told by salesperson that I'm now going to get the 2021 version of what I ordered at the price I signed for when I thought I was buying a 2020. Anyway, now this paint color swap out is making me nervous. I ordered Snow White Pearl. Looks like they've officially swapped to Glacier White Pearl now. So what happens to an order like mine that is in their system as SWP? Do they just automatically swap me to GWP? Or do I get tossed out of the KFOS system and have to start all over now? I have just about had it with all this. Ten months and counting is really wearing me down. Buying a new car is supposed to be fun. Anyway, if anyone knows what they'll do with an order like mine, please advise. Thanks.

I'd reach out to your dealer and talk it through with them. Have you been entered into KFOS? If so, what is your ETA. You may already have a VIN with SWP.

All questions your dealer should be able to answer.

Look, months ago we discussed your situation, and you were made aware of the people who walked from Napleton Elgin and found a vehicle on their own using Failcat. All the answers you seek can be answered by your dealer - should your dealer want to answer them.

You really need to hunt using the forum tools, or you should have ordered from another dealer a long time ago. Sorry, but that's reality. It is clear at this point that Elgin Kia did not order your vehicle, and have just been keeping your deposit to keep you from going somewhere else. What they have likely been doing is ordering other vehicles for inventory and then marking them up to sell because they likely agreed to sell yours at a lower price.

What you need to do is get your Kdealer request number (it has date order was entered into Kdealer) and then you need to know when the vehicle will be entered into KFOS.

You were told to ask these questions at Elgin, and you haven't provided their responses. Perhaps they choose not to answer. Your response should be to walk at this point.

You have all the info you need on the forum - I'd be talking with GM at this point. You need answers, but unfortunately only they can provide them.

One more note: I would bet at this point that your actual order in Kdealer was cancelled by Kia during the changeover and potentially as punishment for that dealer not fulfilling orders correctly. You should still get the Kdealer request number, then call Kia Customer Support and ask them if the order is still active or has been cancelled. They will likely call the dealer anyway... but if it's been cancelled then they are free to do as they please with their KFOS allocations. Else, Kdealer orders are supposed to transfer automatically to KFOS going forward.

Also got one of the last SWPs apparently. Like mentioned, I doubt you'll be able to tell a difference unless they're parked side by side. Whites tend to look the same... until you use your Toyota Tacoma touch up paint to fix a rock chip in your Subaru Crosstrek. :ROFLMAO:

I just ordered a 2021 Telluride S model yesterday...they gave me both the SWP and the GWP options, and both were a $495 upcharge. They had plastic painted samples of the whites, and the best I can describe them was that the GWP was a creamier color with not as much sheen to it in the sunlight. The SWP was a crisper white color with more sparkle in the sunlight. Neither one of the colors came with the Nightfall..

Suggest you read through this thread, lot of good info about what's happening with SWP / GWP. If you don't want to go all the way back, at least start from post #100.

Did the GWP have any sparkle to it? You said a cream color...there's no yellowish tinge to it right?

Look at Post #105 & #115 in this thread.

Post 115 on this thread gives real examples to compare

No, definitely no yellow tint, by "creamier", I meant more of a darker white if that makes sense!

Does anyone think we will see a Glacial White get delivered next week so we can see actual pictures?

I do think so.

Congrats! and yes, it's definitely white! :) Any nice shimmer to it or just super flat white? Thanks for your help!
I will report back when I can see it up close. I still have to have it shipped to me in Texas.

Is it possible to post the video?
It may be possible but I don't care to at this point (dealer talks to me about some personal finance and other personal things during video and I don't want to try and edit). But the video quality isn't great anyways. When I get some higher quality photos, either from the dealer, or once its in my driveway I will be sure to post them.

Hope to have a side by side photo of SWP and GWP that I can post soon. Stay tuned!
