Thanks for the reply @mrmac. Yes I have close family in this business. Lots of areas under scrutiny from an operational cost savings perspective: building / property leases, carrying cost & floor planning, to furloughs / layoffs. Every opportunity to maximize margin is on the table for them.
I've been a Forum member for roughly the same amount of time as you. I have the utmost respect for the viewpoints and contributions of this community. Many of your responses appear to be a bit on the negative side if the OP doesn't appear to align to your viewpoints. A little kindness goes a long way.

Overall, while squeezed primarily by available inventory, the auto industry is doing very well so far during this pandemic. Especially franchise dealers. I can imagine things are quite tight for non-franchise dealers.
