• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
    If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Sport Mode Saturday

20210515_131516.webp

1st Sport Mode Saturday to get Sushi and enjoying Mumford and Sons on this sound system. Love this Ride! Decided to name her Esmeray (Dark Moon) 🐺🔛🌒

Also added the Stop Drop things so I don't get my hand stuck.

@DarkMossJustin hope you don't mind I like your Dune to the Moon and was inspired to create my own as I haven't noticed anyone doing more than the wolf. Correct me if I am wrong. Dark Moss is an amazing color and I almost got Dark Moss but was worried about the how bad the salt in winter would show on the dark color.

Sport Mode + Pedal Commander is Telly on Steriods. Youtube it if you have not heard of it before. I was skeptical but on a feeling took the chance. The difference is real I have tried every mode on it.

Happy Sport Mode Saturday y'all !! 🥳

@ksyrah,

YES !!! 😍😍😍

I think you're the current top speed king !! 🥳

Please share your achievement with us here:

My current top speed is 125 mph on that connector between the I-5 and Paso Robles.

Had I started in Sport Mode sooner on that long straight stretch that's slightly downhill, without a strong headwind, I might have pushed it a bit more.

I'll try to match your accomplishment on that same stretch before my Telly goes in for its 15,000 mile check-up/oil change soon 😉

It was over 130 at one point but fiddling with the phone at that speed I let off a bit.
Surprised you were able to go that fast on the 41/46 corridor.

Had to bring the 5th wheel to the rv dealership today so driving the big diesel. I had to compensate for sport mode Saturday as the telly is parked in the garage. 😂 0789866F-85E1-46B1-8D9E-9E62EC9A152E.webp

@ksyrah:

It was Sunday afternoon, February 28th, 2021.

I drove from Camarillo to 126 to Fillmore to I-5 to Gorman to what turned out to be a dishonest dog breeder (surprise, surprise) Frazier Park and left him a $500 cash deposit for a Belgian Malinois puppy.

I didn't want to drive back through windy windy Piru and Fillmore, so I just took the I-5 North past Bakersfield and kept going until I saw an exit to go to westbound to Paso Robles via 41/46.

There was barely any traffic on the road and there was this long straight slightly-downhill stretch through the desert-y landscape with perfect visibility in all directions and I wouldn't have hit anyone even if the tires blew (but new car, new tires, not likely) so I went for it.

Should have started in Start Mode and probably could have exceeded 125, but I was stupidly in Smart Mode and Smart takes a bit longer, not as immediate to kick Telly into Sport Mode.

Proud of the 125 mph (2/28/2021) and didn't think to take a photo or memorialize it via video, but now I know I need to get a non-hardwired dash cam for Telly to record some scenic road trips on my Farewell Tour of California :)

Congrats on the 130/129 mph !! 🥳

Y’all know what day it is !! 🥳

Just hit 89 merging onto 385 in South Carolina

This car is so smooth. The acceleration and speed gain is really nice. You never feel youre going as fast as the speedometer says

Is it true that if you have AWD, the Sports mode sends 65% power to the front wheels and 35% power to the back wheels? I think someone told me this but it doesn't officially say it anywhere.

@TellurideSXPNightfallAWD:

The power distribution varies and if the real-time torque distribution screen between the gauges can be believed, it can be more FWD biased or when flooring the pedal can fill all the orange boxes indicating an even split front/back. Since it's just measured by bars and not giving a number readout, I can't guarantee that the real-time front/rear distribution display perfectly reflects reality.

I've heard from some amateur reviewers that ECO mode for AWD turns it into FWD and 100% of the power goes to the front and 0% to the rear. This is patently false, if the display is to be believed. It can distribute power 100% to the front and sometimes 90/10, 85/15 again, according to the real time torque distribution readout/display. Either way ECO doesn't lock an AWD into a pure FWD mode and can give a little to the rear wheels.

The reason I prefer Sport Mode is because it requires active driving and more driver/pedal input and gives better feedback, more likely to give power to the rear wheels. It'll never be a RWD bias, but there's times where it feels 60/40 or even a little closer to 50/50, with all orange bars fully-lit on the display (pedal to the floor).

In January, in Zephyr Cove, Nevada, I found a few wide-open icy snowy parking lots without any cars/obstructions for some early morning Telly drive mode testing. Snow Mode and Default (Comfort Mode) performed well, even Eco.

Of course Sport Mode + Traction Control OFF for some slippy fun :)

Happy Sport Mode Saturday everyone !! 🥳

Been seeing more and more big bold boxy Kia Tellurides around town.

Leaving work yesterday, saw a Dark Moss SX non-Nightfall with the distinctive amber DRLs and we rolled down windshields to compliment each other's cars.

Then I pulled onto the freeway to Sport Mode back to Camarillo and I see a White SX (license plate frames of First Kia, Simi Valley) but I had to step on the accelerator to see the front of her Telly in my side and rear view mirrors:
