• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Struggling with my 2022 model order, what to do if it switches to a 2023?

I have to ask - why are you defending this chaos? Are you an employee?

Yes I have a right to walk away, but I am a CUSTOMER. And while this is my first KIA purchase, I plan to be a loyal one. As I said to begin with, KIA knows the date the switchover will begin, and they lose nothing by disclosing it.
Not at all.

We’re all on the same boat here. I wish car buying was simple as it was in the past where we all got up to 12% discounts. Telluride changed all that because Kia didn’t know how popular it was going to be and didn’t produce enough, so dealers started the ADM nonsense a year before Covid issues hit everything. Now it’s total chaos across the board.

Adding to NDBlackEX post, every day we see new posts that ask the same questions that have been answered many times over instead of doing any sort of research. We have new thread asking about Failcat almost daily. It makes this board chaotic.

There are a lot of good people here that have stuck around and want to help. There are also a lot that want their questions answered right away and disappear soon after they get their vehicle without adding anything of value.

My point is change is good otherwise why would manufacturers update their vehicles every year? People complained about the logo change creating new posts every single day and now no one cares. Without seeing it in real life it no one knows how the ’23 is going to look. The annual changes that are made most likely date back a while and no manufacturer is going to change all their tooling to satisfy a few people that complain on a car forum. No offense.

I’m sure for people who have orders in so far, when the time is right, the dealer will give them the opportunity to adjust their options. Then, it’s up to the individual to make their choice to continue or cancel their orders. If Telluride is a vehicle that appeals to you whether it has USB-C or not shouldn’t change the outcome.

We have people who work for dealers here so when it’s time I’m sure Steve will update everyone here. Just requires some patience.

Stick around once you get your vehicle and surely you'll be a happy customer that also enjoys what this forum offers.

I plan to. Seldom do I leave a forum where I have a vested interest.
Thank you for your recent explanations.

As NDBlackEX drove home the point, I had totally forgotten about the supply chain woes - and this is an extremely important issue with the auto industry. Until it gets resolved (6 months, a year, or even years?) there is going to be chaos. Therefore, I have changed my mind about "KIA knows the switchover date" - I am willing to give them the benefit of the doubt for the time being. I only hope my 4 month delivery estimate doesn't turn into 6 or 8 months without some word.

There is another factor that I saw during last year's switchover. Even once KIA corporate sets the switchover date, they don't communicate to dealers in more than general terms. Our resident sales person was in the dark about exact switchover dates, model year changes, and any specifics until new cars started showing up on the lot. First time we saw the new logo on a NF was in a news video clip of Senator Warnock (D-GA) getting into one at some press event. Even at that point, less than a month before '22s came out, nobody knew if that was a pre-production vehicle with silver logos, or a mock-up. Turns out Kia was already making them, but even their dealers didn't have details on colors/pricing/MY changes. Expect the same this year.

Kia doesn't owe anyone an explanation on how to run their business and when to make announcements. Every car maker is going through the same issues.

This is just like the new Kia logo issue last year. Everyone complained and now no one cares. I don't even remember what the old logo looked like. People are now complaining about the so called "iconic" amber lights.

My point is once people start receiving the new model it's going to be fine. We can't tell how good or bad the '23 is going to be by looking at some pictures on social media. Some cars looks just ok on pictures and many times better in real life. Once people start getting their vehicles we won't even remember how the old model even looked like.

Everyone complaining about '23 should just cancel their orders to give others a chance to buy a car they will most likely enjoy.

Once the dealers know the actual timeline I'm sure everyone will be asked to make a decision whether to go on with their order and make any modifications or cancel.
If I end up with a 23, I want to change my color, especially if there is no Nightfall. Love some of the new colors!!!

Any good colors in your mind? The problem is I can’t see the real color in person since dealer lots are empty.

I was online at the NY Auto Show and saw a new color for the 23 SX AWD. Beautiful Blue, loved that color. Heard there is going to be a New Red and a different Green. Saw that on YouTube. Don't know for sure, just saying.

I don't like the look of the 23 at all from the front. That is my issue.
Just do what I did. Order the front hood T E L L U R I D E emblem letters. Parts can special order and ship in just a few days. You'll have your emblem letters in a week, under $80.00. Then, install yourself, or hire a local body shop to professional align for you. The letters have the 3M adhesive.

There you go. The front hood is also a must have for me, and that's actually the reason why I was attracted and interested in the Telluride in the first place.

Problem solved.

I think they’re referring to the headlights and the bumper.

Three are neat IMO. Gravity Gray, Dark Moss, and Black Copper. I've seen the first two.

Agreed! I ordered a Gravity Gray SX AWD 10/25/21 from Fort Bend and currently waiting but I've seen a Sangria recently in person finally and it is a nice color. I'd love to see in person the Red, Blue and Green colors for the 2023 model. Those colors alone make me want to wait for the new year model.

I really like the new blue that they had at the show. But without additional final info about what is to come for MY '23, I'm sure there will be other good colors too.

I honesty think you'll be able to somehow retrofit the '22 headlights and bumper to the '23 with maybe some electrical wiring kit. Sensor compatibility swap may be a pain though. The biggest difference I see is other than the headlight formation change from amber to a more standard look is that the headlight housing is smaller which gives the front less presence. It's a small change but it seems to have a huge aesthetic since the '23 telly doesn't look to have the big eye look anymore.

I heard the red in '23 is not like the Sangria in '22. Sangria is very closed to burgundy. The red in '23 is brighter and lighter than that. Indeed, the name itself is called Dawning Red.

Yes, that's correct.
