Suggestion for good value winter rims/tires that work with sensors?

Hey everyone, I am on the market for the winter tires for next season, I was going to go with something obvious - can get Blizzaks/X-Ices/Ultra Grip Ices for 300 CAD - but then I remembered about the TPMS. How does that work in our Tellurides? do we have to get special rims or something? Do you guys have any suggestions for purchase? Thank you.

Buy some take off rims from a fellow telluride owner looking to get rid of their stock rims.

I run the LX rims in winter. Not my favorite from a looks perspective, but cheap and I knew they were compatible with the OEM TPMS sensors and the vehicle.

that is an excellent tip... not sure how feasible this looks though... I'll keep an eye on that... I'm assuming any difference in the rim size (In Canada the base trim EX has 18" wheels as opposed to all other trims that have 20" ones) won't affect the functionality of the car, right?
Can I ask anyone to swap the tires on the rims or because of the sensors it's something Kia has to do?

I think you can just purchase any second set of rims and new TPMS sensors 52933-C1100 (example valve stem on amazon) The tire shop that mounts the winter tires to the rims should also be able to install the TPMS sensors and valve stems and configure them with your Telluride for a reasonably small fee.

I have attached a couple of pictures of my winter tires and rims for reference. I have found Keith from Exclusive Wheel and Tire in Ajax (Home - Exclusive Wheel & Tire) to be very fair and knowledgeable. I went with 18 inch Fast FC rims with Michelin XIce 235/65R18 with new TPMS installed in the winter rims. Easy swap in fall and spring as my 20 inch stock rims, tires and TPMS remain intact. Works like a charm.

Correct.

I have an SX in the US with 20” rims.

In winter I run the 18 inch rims - no issues.

ebay is the place for take-off rims. Have done this on my last three vehicles with great success.

I run different tires in winter and summer so at all times I have a stack of 4 rims in the corner of my garage.
