• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... I finally (yay!!!!) picked up my car last night. On pre-final inspection, I didn't check the interior mood lighting system. Shame on me. It's been, weird.

On the drive home I realized that they weren't on, at ALL. Settings show up in the center display, can adjust color choice and brightness, and no matter how bright, no visible display for expected led strips frontdash/frontdoors/rearsdoors. I drove home at night, and had 5 hrs to carefully play with this. Two laners. Dark roads. Main dash lights dimmed all the way. Nothing from the Mood lighting strips. Tried changing colors, adjusting brightness to Max and back. Many times. Nothing.

A bit discouraged this a.m. but otherwise stoked on how awesome the drive was and how easy the SXP features made it, after a long day and late into the night. Workday and staring at the new car I just want to get in and EXPLORE. Can't, super busy.

This evening: take the car for a grocery run with Spouse + kiddo, and BEHOLD, the mood lighting strips are now lighting up, but very dimly. It started with just the front strips on the dash. Later this evening it's clear all strips are functioning. But all are extremely dim, even though the setting is at brightest.

So WEIRD. b/c the symptoms are not scientific. Driving me nuts. Ultimately I'm not terribly concerned as this will be easily sorted out with warranty, but I'm so curious as to what might be causing this type of behavior. Anyone else experience anything similar?

The lighting is pretty dim, even on the brightest setting. Don't have an idea on why it didn't work the first night.

Snap some pictures when it happens again when some of the lights are working in a dark area. We can compare the brightness with other pictures posted of the mood lighting in the forum.

Here’s a shot just now with the mood lighting at full brightness, dark outside. Just wondering if this is expected brightness

That's about like ours. It's not super bright. Probably for the better, it'll be harder to see out.

They are not bright at all. Pretty much only noticeable when it is pitch black out.

red seems to show the best and blue the least. Mine are blue. Red is too “Audi” for my telluride.

Yes that as bright as it gets.

Yes, that looks good. They are brighter in park. Try changing them to red and you can see a difference. Honestly, it isn't a selling feature. You'll soon forget you have them. I find I'm pleasantly surprised at night when I start it up - but as soon as I shift into Drive, they effectively disappear.

Yep - I also confirmed the brightness drops considerably once you shift into gear.

I am curious where all of the mood lights are located. I have seen the one on the passenger dash, but haven't noticed any others. I also only notice it when we get in the vehicle, not when we are driving. Does anyone have any input?

There is the strip on the dash and on each of the four doors.

They are dim. Is that just how they are? I guess I should try red tomorrow night.
