I placed an order for a loaded Prestige this weekend. Well - sort of. Spoke to dealership owner and he told me he couldn't even put the order in. Looking at "fall." He took a deposit on a refundable basis and said he'd put the order in as soon as Kia let him - but almost reluctantly and made no promises. I reached out to another dealer 80 miles away that showed having one online. Manager told me no longer in stock. Confirmed Kia won't take any order and 6-8 month back-up on the Prestige. "Looking at January." Any other info on this?

I decided to save $4,000 and get the SX. The weather is just as good. I don't need my second row ventilated. Automatic windshield wipers sound aggravating. why do I need heads up display when the information is right in front of my steering wheel? All-wheel drive just burns more gas and gives me more problems.
That's why I backed off the prestige when I found out what the wait was. And now I'm happy that I got my order in and save the cash and get essentially the exact same vehicle.

Automatic wipers are pretty nice, just have to find that sweet spot to adjust them to your liking. HUD is sooo nice, probably worth the $4000 itself. No need to look for the little tiny lights in your mirrors for blind spot detection. No need to look down for speed. No need to look at the display for nav turns. Shows when your cruise is set and what speed. Shows the speed limit and lets you know when your LKA is active. AWD is very stable, very reliable, and a 1 mpg difference on gas mileage. These aren't the old chain driven transfer case..stop to lock the hubs 4wd systems anymore.

Thank you all. May go with SX without the Prestige. Don't think I can wait that long and it still seems overall better than the comps. Interesting thing that if you look up Heated Steering Wheel (important to me) under specs on the Kia website it says Prestige package required. Edmunds also says same in its review. But the window stickers show the straight SX comes with the heated wheel and of course, the Build to Order on website says nothing about the heated wheel.

Yes, another bit of sloppiness on the Kia website. It is listed as "Optional" for EX and SX if one goes to the "More Details" and then "Interior" sections of the EX and SX boxes on the first "Select Trim" page of Build and Price. But never listed in any package or options.

The SX AWD and EX AWD have heated steering wheel, the FWD does not.

I placed my order for an SX Prestige in Moss with black interior on 4/25 and just got notified today it’s “in transit”. It’s been a long wait!! Super excited!

If you like it, I’m glad you enjoy it! That’s what it’s all about. But for me, I don’t get it. I’ve always driven cars the old fashioned way I guess. Use the side mirrors and my dash for info. I could never pay $4000 for something like that. Of course I’ve been accused of being a cheap bastard before lol

We called multiple Kia dealerships and even have a good friend who works at one, and they are all telling us the same thing. They are not taking anymore SX Prestige orders.
It is possible that they are just waiting to catch up and can place the order in the fall/winter like they said. But I honestly don’t think anyone can know for sure. When we went to make our order yesterday the floor manager initially said they weren’t even taking SX orders anymore, until we told him one of the salesman told us on Saturday that we could. Our friend confirmed at his dealership that they are being told to cut back on SX orders and aren’t making them anymore. We are in Southern California.

I had no problem placing an SX order the 1st week in June. Already have a VIN. I wonder when that info came out. Kia should be transparent but they likely don't want to lose business hence keeping all this on the DL

For sure, totally agree! All of this correspondence happened in the last 3 days. We ordered our SX Yesterday 6/25.
How long did it take for the VIN? That’s awesome you already have it! Did you get notified when your car was accepted to get made? What color combo did you do?

FWD Moss SX blk interior with tow package. Dealer gave me order acceptance documentation the same day he ordered it for me. Dealer emailed me Friday the VIN.....so about 2 weeks. I know others have waited various lengths. There really is no consistency it seems

I thought that but it has the exact same accessories.....including the illuminated scuff plate. I've seen 100s of stickers and none have had that. I also had cross bars and did not want the cargo cover. I also added carpeted matt for the cargo area. Sticker matches it exactly as I ordered
