• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
    If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Looks like KIA is set to release the new KIA Carnival next quarter. Yes, it’s a minivan but the interior looks slick and I like the new badge. Bet you could trick this out with NF, black rims, good color scheme, and make it scream.

Secretly hoping my back-ordered Telluride is delayed into the 2022 model year to receive the new badge. Here is the Carnival article.

@Telluride Forum:

Sal, please make some 2020/2021 OEM KIA badges available because the upcoming 2022+ ones look godawful and I'll finally have to re-badge those things with the current badges that some people don't like :)

Haha, LMAO!! It does look a bit like Nine Inch Nails logo (NIN). Wish I hadn’t seen that.

Motortrend source below confirms all 2022 models, including telluride will have new emblem. I love the new logo! The old, boring logo will always be tied to when Kia was a budget, lower-tier, afterthought car company; that’s just the sad truth. This rebranding is long overdue, and symbolizes the incredible growth Kia has made in recent years in terms of quality. I for one am incredibly happy I waited to order the new 2022. Hope it helps with resale value too, not that I am planning on it anytime soon.

The new logo does look modern. No need to rebadge, snd doesn’t look like an option anyway. When the heck will they start producing the 2022? Maybe June? I will probably wind up getting the last 2021 “old badge” model off the line. Ergh

You and me both. My wife waited long enough and there's no way she will accept delaying our order for another 3 - 4 months for a rebadge (and maybe digital cluster) when she's expecting her car in the next few weeks.

Haha. I hear you. We’ve been waiting 2 months, and the order still has not been picked up by Kia. I’m thinking this will probably get me close to a 2022, but I will likely miss it by a few weeks. 😆

There are benefits to having the old badge too. It’s completely a preference thing, but it would be super cool to say you had an original telluride that started it all before the hype train went off the rails, if you do end up getting the older emblem! Car is exactly the same from what we know at this time, and you’ll probably save a little dough with 2021. As for the 2022 release, it is hard to say. The 2022 carnival is at dealerships now, which i went to check out, and led to my decision to wait for 2022. The new emblem is super sleek, on the exterior and especially on the steering wheel. I went back into the 2021 telluride and couldn’t get over the feelings associated with the old car logo, which was notorious for being cheap and unreliable for so many years, staring me back on the steering wheel, but that’s just me; I decided to wait for 2022 right then and there. A Kia was never on my radar until I got into a telluride, and I had to convince my wife to check it out after her response to going for a test drive was, “really a Kia? i thought those were crap.” Obviously the rebrand is absolutely necessary...

I know, right? I looked at quite a few 3-ros vehicles (including “upscale” brands like Volvo XC-90, Acura MDX, Audi Q7, etc. The Telluride was the only one that checked all boxes in terms of size and features. Even my kids are saying “You put a deposit on a Kia? Why? They’re junk!” They haven’t seen it yet, but I think when it finally comes in (White SX-P with Nightfall) it will change their perception.

Haha so funny! Ya don’t sweat it, when they’re in the back reclining in their comfy nappa leather captains chairs with heat/vent, you won’t hear any more hate on the “junk” Kia from them. Good choice btw, contrast is going to look so sweet!

Ohhhhh.... They'll come around... ;)

The one thing that I liked after viewing the images of the Carnival was the second row "lay back, leg rest" seating. Now that would be sweet for those long road journeys... as a passenger... but I'm the driver 99% of the time, and even as a passenger I'd be in the front co-pilot seat. :-) But for anyone I would be chauffeuring around, they'd be sitting in business class comfort.

For those who don't want to pay the Telluride premium cost of ownership, it's certainly a nice option; but you can see in the photos where it's a different class of vehicle from the Telluride. From the outside, it looks like they cut the front off a Telluride and welded a Dodge minivan onto the back. Nothing wrong with that as everyone has a budget and personal preferences regarding styling. If anything, I would have liked the Telluride to have an even larger overall size. Not Yukon huge, but kind of closer to the size of my old Mitsubishi Montero. I feel like I've downsized a bit. But don't misunderstand me. I've grown to love the Telluride, and happier still that I was able to acquire one when they had a lower price point and better availability. I still had to wait several months to get it, but nothing like the wait lists that are going on now. And if you want some rampant speculation regarding the future, just wait till China finally makes a run on Taiwan (which I anticipate will occur before the end of this year). Then with Taiwanese chip production in a tailspin and economic sanctions against China getting imposed, the global auto industry will end up taking one huge hit. If I were considering buying a vehicle now, I'd be getting my order in the queue and not waiting any longer than absolutely necessary. The upside is that the used vehicle market will be even stronger than it currently is.
