Are you placing orders at no higher than MSRP for SXPs? We're in San Diego and trying to exhaust all So Cal dealers before ordering out of state.

FYI, Hilltop Kia in Richmond, CA sells at MSRP.

These guys say they will sell at MSRP, but I was recently given a $580+ monthly payment on a base LX after $3000+ down, @84 months at a 850 credit rating. Never gave me an exact price because I basically hung up at that point.

Your post doesn't make sense. If your credit rating is that high, then you can get the financing from Kia and terms will be much better. Maybe they priced an SX-P? Did you negotiate only on payment or did you use an amortization calculator to figure payment?

Talk with Michael at Capitol Kia.

My credit is actually a bit lower, also from my understanding Kia doesn't go up to 84 months, or the interest goes way up.

I asked for a quote to look over and things got sketchy from there. It does make sense when the price being used is not MSRP, but a 3k+ markup. I have had multiple dealers do the same thing, Kia and Hyundai. Some California dealers are doing shady things to hide the true price. Capitol told me I can't use the MSRP from Kia because it is wrong. So what MSRP is right? A made up one?

I am negotiating from a monthly payment perspective, but when I know the likely APR and define the length (84 month max) and get $100 a month over my target, my only conclusion is that they are bumping the price.

A 7 year car loan is a terrible idea, but if you must, you must.

A $34,000 LX (assuming taxes and fees paid up front - likely around $3k) is only $609.43 per month on a 60-month term at 2.9% interest. You can get lower with Kia's low APR offer, or take the $1000 finance rebate. If you stretch to 6 years, payment can get down to $530 at 3.9% interest at 72 months. Use an amortization calculator - it will be your friend. Don't just negotiate on the payment... they'll take you for a ride.

@jw_tx21 thanks for responding to @Kfx400rider. I didn't get the call if by chance you have time please give me a call kfx400rider. The amount that's factored into the payment is tax license and fees not just the MSRP + how much down you're putting down as a down payment. The website calculator doesn't factor in the tax license and fees that come along with the pricing. Any questions please let me know. =]

We're selling MSRP for our current orders without markup. We've hit over 100 orders on the Telluride for all our guests and expecting more to come in shortly. Any questions please let me know.

Yeah, something didn't seem right. I mean $580 for 84 months plus $3k is $51,720... which would seem ridiculously high for an LX (Interest charges alone would be close to $15k!!!) That equates to something close to a 10.9% APR...

Now if it was a "worst case" quote for legal reasons, I'd understand that. So many people just negotiate on payments... crazy.
