• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Telluride not starting at delivery

Well you were all of course right - got a call first thing this morning from Kia and it was a dead cell in the battery. The battery has been replaced, it’s apparently working fine now, and it’s ready for pick up. Mistakes happen but I’m still annoyed. We can’t just easily pick up and go, need to arrange for child care for my son (again), dealer is also a 30 min drive one-way. I’d hope they do the right thing and offer me something like a free oil change at the very least. If not I’m going to let them know how unprofessional I found this whole process. Thanks again everyone for your input and concern.

Hopefully they will give you something for your trouble and if anything you can presume that you made it better for the next person as they will probably make sure to check from now on.

this means that the dealer is bad (unprofessional). He may have charged the battery, but that’s no use if the battery is dead. the dealer did not carry out the test with special equipment, which is mandatory before the car is delivered to the customer.
My point was even if they checked the battery, they just die out of nowhere there days.

Could have been fine during PDA and then it died. I’ve seen it happen and it is more common than you think.

Yes, it sucks, but the dealer might have done it by the book. If only give them a partial negative mark on this one. One could wonder why it wasn’t caught at the factory....

a short test does not reveal this problem. The dealer must do a discharge / charge test, this takes 15-30 minutes. Such a test is required and shows a low-quality battery. but dealers do not want to waste time, time is money, as they wrote here - it's also good that the car is driven through the car wash.🤣
