• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Today I truly tested the 4WD capability of my telluride. I was looking for a shortcut to Sedona AZ and ended up on Schnebly Hill Rd. There is no sense me describing this road. After the fact, I learned this is a jeep only recommended road. Look it up on google and YouTube. Anyway, my Telly handled huge rocks, ruts, washouts. Now, admittedly, I was headed downhill for 6 miles and a 2000 ft elevation drop. Brakes were great, and I was shocked at how well it handled the 8 inch clearance. I don’t recommend you try this, but if you get somewhere you shouldn’t be, have confidence! I did this on original factory Michelins with 19000 miles. Lastly, I almost got stuck in a place and immediately remembered discussions about the lack of a front row tow ring. Definitely critical to off-roading. Don’t know if they solved this with the 2023, but I wouldn’t do this again without solving this. Super proud owner!!

That is a great road! I went on it a few times in my Grand Cherokee Summit back when I lived in Arizona. I was a little nervous in certain parts of it with that car (mainly due to the relatively low-profile tires on the 20” wheels). I would certainly have the same concerns with the Telluride, and of course the Telluride doesn’t have air suspension to help out with clearance. Happy to hear you successfully made it with no issues. To answer the question about the tow hook, the 2023s do have front tow hook mounts through a hole in the front bumper.

Did you get any great pictures of the views or (better yet) your Telluride on the road? Here are some of mine from 2015:
