• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Telluride sx lift and larger tires

Just installed! I kind of nicked the paint rim around the rear emblem as you can see in the picture but I figure just a little sanding and touch up paint later? Black Wheels next!
how did you get the front one off Im struggling

265/60R18 tires with no lift
Tires: Falken Wildpeak AT4W
Wheels: KMC Nomad, 18x8, 38mm offset
Slight rubbing on plastic liner - behind front wheels at near full turn. I could have left this as is with no worries but I chose to use a heat gun to reshape the plastic liner a small amount so there would be no rub.
Very happy with the end result and very impressed with the tires (on road only so far) - tires are quiet and comfortable.

Is there a way to recalibrate the computer once you put bigger tires on these? I know you can mentally offset it but that doesn't help the car computer

Would also be interested to know.

Earlier posts in this forum say there isn't a way (yet? Or at all?) but would like to hear from a tech on that.

I was expecting my speedo to be inaccurate after changing to the slightly larger tires but my speedometer read correctly. I verified this by using an app (Speedbox is the name of the app) on my phone. I didn't do anything to the car to recalibrate.

After adding the lift and tires I can confirm mine is not accurate and would love for a way to recalibrate for the simple fact or seeing the correct fuel mileage.

Got the installed and look great. And no rubbing at full lock or anything so far. Very happy with them so far.
That fills out the wheel well nicely. The 245/50/20 tires look too small. Any rubbing after more testing? Which tire did you go with?

Thank you. I love the way it looks. 255/55/20 the only time they will rub is at a pretty good rate of speed 25-35 and you make a turn and the turn drops off or raises up to make them flex a little. But that has happened like 3 times now and it barely is even noticeable my wife barely noticed it. Go slower and it never really touches but it has not done it in a while now.

Sorry for the late update. The 285/65/18 were too big so we swapped them out for the 265/60/18 K02's on Black Rhino Arches. Tires look and fit great along with the 2.5 inch lift. Some very minor rubbing but not enough to worry about.
Love your set up! I am curious though because I don't see that black rhino makes the arches in 18" with the 5x4.5(114.3) bolt pattern ! Do you have a link to them that I'm not seeing ? What is the wheel width and offset ? Thanks

265/50/20 Toyo RT/Trail stock wheels not lift, no rubbing

Three days ago I had Falken Wildpeak A/T-Trail 265/50/20's installed on my 2022 EX Nightfall AWD with Tow Package, with stock 20 inch wheels, on the stock suspension with NO LIFT. Hopefully this post helps others when making tire size decision for stock 20" wheels. The pics are from today, so we have been driving on these for three days now.

These do rub, but from what I can tell so far only the fronts are rubbing very slightly and only when they are turned at full lock while reversing slowly. I have not noted any rubbing of the rears nor any "bottoming out." I was aware from other posts on this thread that this size might rub, but decided to go with it over the 255/50/20 to get a little more sidewall.

Both front tires rub on the plastic liner at the rear aspect of the front wheel wells, but only when the wheel is turned at full lock (driver side rubs only when wheel turned full lock to the left/toward driver side, passenger side rubs only when wheel turned full lock to the right/toward passenger side).

I have not heard nor felt any rubbing--I had to watch it closely from outside the vehicle while my wife was slowly reversing at full lock to know it was happening, and then when we turned the wheels to full lock the other way I could see the rub marks on the front wheel well liners.

One thing I did notice is that rim/wheel face is not flush with the tire sidewall--the rim/wheel face is "inset" about a quarter-inch from the sidewall. I searched online for some pics and it looks like this is the case with some wheels with the Falken Wildpeak A/T-Trails. I am thinking this is because these stock 20" wheels are 7.5"wide wheels? The Falken specs page says approved rim widths are 7.5-9.5" and the "measuring rim" is 8.5." Regardless, I like it because the wheels will be more protected from the curb.

I love the way they look, as I was wanting something with more sidewall that would fill out the wheel well a little more and look a little more aggressive. To me the ride quality on paved roads (highway, in town) and road noise is no different than with the stock Michelin Primacy LTX's that were on it (although I am half-deaf, my wife and my 18 yo son both say they don't think they are any louder) .

I am considering addressing the rubbing by using a heat gun to remold the rear aspect of the wheel well liner as described by another member on this thread--not because I am concerned about it but primarily because I am OCD lol.

I have attached a pic that shows the "inset" of the wheel face respective to the side wall, along with pics of the rubbing areas, plus several different views of the vehicle. garage.webp

I was gonna go with a 265/50/20 All terrain tire. With a lift do you think it will rub?
No. I have 265/50/20 on a stock Telluride.

Sorry for the late response. Mine were purchased back in September 2022 through THE CUSTOM SHOP in Astoria, Queens. They installed the lift kit, running boards and the wheels and tires. I did a Google search and found this link. Hope it helps!
