  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Good morning,

It's been a week that I have signed the papers for my new Telluride and I simply can't stop thinking about it. I'm probably in for a long wait so I'm passing the days refreshing this forum, looking for interesting threads.

Growing up in Brazil, Kia was a synonym for the Besta, a big van that took over the segment when the country was opened for imported cars in the beginning of the 90s. Little did I know most of my cars in my adult life would be Kias 🤣

I got a used 1996 VW Gol when I turned 20. Completely bare, manual everything (including transmission as most cars in my native country). Living 6 years in Rio without A/C was almost literally hell! Then I moved to Canada when I was almost 30 and got a Forte when my life turned into a suburb life - complete with a kid and a mortgage.

A few years later we wanted to have two cars as we didn't like being at the mercy of public transportation on weekends when my wife had to use the car for work and we test drove a Sportage... but she fell in love with a Rondo with 3rd row that was at the dealer showroom.

We got sick of it though and wanted to upgrade it this year. My wife said she was done with Kias. I started my research and kept sending her pics of cars - for her, design is key - and lo and behold she liked the Telluride a lot.

One test drive later and now we're expecting it for May.

At the dealer lot she already mentioned upgrading our Forte, while looking at a Niro...

Anyway... thanks for this excellent forum and for keeping me entertained for the next couple of months. Hoping we can get ours for summer.

Welcome. Sounds like you've went through the entire history of Kia's for the past decade+. Kia has made some huge strides over the years. I think you and your wife will be super happy with the new Telluride. If you are looking for a replacement for the Forte, Niro is nice but also look at Seltos as it has baby Telluride vibes. If you stick to sedans, certified used Stingers can be had for incredible value or K900/Cadenza is used bargain luxury no one knows about. Good luck!
