I have the 2020 SXP Dark Moss/Grey Nappa and after having driving this baby 10k miles in 2 years, I am still just as excited to own one as the day I picked it up. Partly because I am still so invested in learning new things about the car from this forum and how desirable the car is in the current market.
People are still asking me about it when they see it in person and my wife is always groaning, “ugh, don’t get him started talking about his Telluride.”
Some of my observations and routines I have with my Telly:

Looking forward to see what the next 10-20k miles will be like owning this car!
People are still asking me about it when they see it in person and my wife is always groaning, “ugh, don’t get him started talking about his Telluride.”

Some of my observations and routines I have with my Telly:
- Radio volume is fairly loud stock (HK system without quantum and bass boost settings on). I usually operate at level 4 or 5 and lower of my kids are asleep.
- Sometimes when the HD radio signal comes and goes while listening to a radio station, the non-HD broadcast sounds louder than the HD broadcast. So it can be annoying to hear it get louder then quieter repeatedly.
- I find BSM and LKA warning sound is too loud even on the lowest warning volume settings. They should have designed it to make it go even lower without completely having to turn off the warning sound.
- When I am on a hill or at the drive through, typically when I will turn on auto hold so I don’t have to keep my foot on the brake.
- I always use SVM to pull into a spot as tight to the wall as possible to avoid having others ding my car when they open their doors. For situations when I cannot park far away from other cars.
- I use a battery maintainer every 2-3 weeks to charge my battery to full since I drive short distances only a few days a week.
- If using a front facing car seat with a child anchor that wraps around the top of the seat back, would be wise to use a thick folded towel or foam padding if you don’t want the strap to indent your leather seat over time.
- It is possible to fill the air in your spare tire to 60 psi without removing from the storage location under the rear of the car. May require laying down on the floor to reach the inlet valve.
- I hardly use the “Rear” button to adjust the rear climate settings, too much lag time on screen. I set the driver temp to what I want for the rear, then press “Sync”. Could also press sync first. If I want the front climate settings to be different from the rear at that point I press Sync again (to unsync) and make the changes to the front.
- Exclusively drive in Smart mode and I have not felt the need to change drive modes. Will rarely use Snow mode in inclement snow conditions or Sport if I am making a tight lane change maneuver, but not absolutely necessary.
- I turned off smart lift gate because I routinely walk behind the car at home in a tight parking space against the wall, and I feel the 3 second timer is too short to get out of range before the tail gate opens. Particularly when carrying trash or snowblowers back and forth.
- I don’t typically use SCC when there is heavy stop and go traffic because it doesn’t speed up as fast as I normally would from a stop when the leading car departs, even with fast SCC reaction time set. I mainly try to use it on roads with steady moving traffic.
- During three point turns on a busy street or intersection, RCCA can be a PITA because it will apply the brakes while trying to reverse as you normally would.
- Mainly use the storage conpartment under the trunk cago area to hold my re-usable shopping bags, a tarp for hauling mulch/soil and umbrellas.
- Gas mileage is about 17.5 mpg on average. And I remote start for majority of the year with mainly city driving.
- The Tellluride counts idling (ie. from remote starts) as fuel consumption when calculating mpg. First I’ve ever seen in a car. So if you remote start your car and drive for less than a mile, you could legit see an abysmal 8 mpg reading.
- The day before a forecasted snow storm, I try to turn off auto folding mirrors and keep them unfolded. Otherwise when they ice over in a snow storm sometimes the mirror motor will struggle to unfold and potentially cause the gear to come out of position.
