Time from buy to delivery for December 2020

HI All!!
Finally ordered my Telluride sx, Prestige, black with Napa leather. Really excited! Ordered on Nov 30th, and dealer here in NC said it will most likely be done in the March time frame. Has anyone else ordered in the past 5 months and can tell me what the delivery time frame was like?

I ordered from a Kia dealer in Cary the first week of October. I contacted them this week and they have no ETA or update to give. I think the salesman is just too lazy to check. Next email I send will go to the store's GM.

Hi. We ordered one from the Kia dealer in Cary, NC on October 20. Sent email to salesperson last week and he has no update. That seems strange. My next email will go to the GM for that store. I think the salesperson just doesn't want to be bothered to dig a bit more. My understanding is that I should have received an ETA by now.

Oh man,,,, that totally sucks. I hope that you have better luck and get an ETA. On the other part of this forum, they are saying that we could be supplied with a VIN # as well once they start on the car. That way you can track the progress in the factory as it is being built. Not sure if that is 100% accurate however and I don't want to misspeak. My dealership here told me when I txt them yesterday that they would most likely be starting on the car in the "new year". I took this to mean the 1st week of January, but not feeling great about it. I want the car by end of March or at the latest, end of April. Hopefully that is what happens. Did they give you any idea when you put the order in?

Delivery time all depends on your dealers allotment and waitlist. It typically takes few months for your order to be entered into the system. Order can only be entered in once a month and each dealer gets set amount of allotments. You will not have an ETA set by Kia until your order gets entered in. Current ETA you got from the dealer is only a guess from the dealer at this time.

I was there the day the he entered the order in. They told me what you are telling me, that they can only enter orders in once a month, and thankfully I got there the day that they were being put in. It has been about a month since then. What is the typical wait time to find out when the manufacturer starts the build? Thank you for helping!

Question on the buying process. I put an order in for a 2021 SX on 11/4 at Nutley Kia. Was told my car would be on the next batch of orders sent to the manufacturer. At the time I was given an approximate 4 month delivery estimate since I didn’t get any add-ons. Called several times since then...

Above linked thread will help a lot. Typical wait time from order to delivery varies depending on the dealer, but I've seen range from 3 to 8 months. One thing to remember, your order being in the system is not the same as Kia "picking up" your order. Around every mid-month, Kia's ordering system opens up and dealers are able to enter in orders. Kia will "pick up" orders depending on dealer's allotment and queues(how many are ordered before you). Once your order gets picked up by Kia, only then you will get the ETA provided by Kia(not the one from your dealer). That ETA is fairly accurate. You will be provided with your VIN once your car is built. Expect 4-6 weeks for delivery after VIN. You can make a inquiry about the VIN on this thread if it doesn't arrive in expected time.
