Hello, we are looking at purchasing a 2020-2023 Kia Telluride and would be using it to tow our boat short distances in the summer. Our boat and trailer are very old and the trailer does not have the ability to have a trailer brake (previous one is broken with no ability to fix). Max capacity of the boat with trailer and full tank of gas would be 2,800-3,000 pounds. I know the Tellurides are rated to tow up to 5,000 pounds, but I’m wondering if anyone has towed something like that without trailer brakes and how did it handle? We don’t want to stress out the vehicle too much.

The manual states max towing is 1650 lb without trailer brakes, so this would be well beyond that.
