• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... I recently completed my first camping trip using my 2023 SX X-Line as a tow vehicle for our 2019 Forest River Wolf Pup 16FQ. Backing the camper into my driveway before the trip was an adventure as the automatic braking was applied. I had hoped using Tow Mode would disable, but apparently not. I also turned off parking safety (which stayed off until I shut off the ignition) and had to disable the rear parking sensor (reset every time I shifted from reverse to drive).

During the 90 minute trip to the campground I was a little nervous, so disabled several driving safety features. This caused alerts on the dash, which stayed on the whole trip. The Telluride pulled fine and showed no strain from towing the 3000-3200# trailer.

On the trip home, I only disabled parking safety in setup and the rear parking sensor next to the gear shift. As mentioned above, the rear parking reset which was annoying. Dows anyone know if this is normal and if so, if there is a way to disable until ignition is shut off?

Do you have an aftermarket wiring setup (U-Haul, e-trailer etc.) or do you have the semi-OEMHyundai harness installed? I don't have an answer for you, sorry, just wondering if the OEM automatically disables those systems.

I talked with KIA Customer Service yesterday, they said the FULL 2023+ Hitch setup will be released in 2 weeks...They are waiting on delivery of 1 more part for sufficient rollout inventory...If you put in a case # they will call you as soon as its released..

I do have an aftermarket wiring setup, done at a hitch installer recommended by my dealer. I am starting to think that the Kia/Hyundai wiring harness does automatically disable some of the safety systems. I needed to get the hitch installed this spring, so I don't regret having it done, but I may purchase the harness once it is widely available and have either the dealer or third party installer connect using that.
