Tpms question

Just recently acquired sx rims with tires, but the previous owner kept the tpms sensors. Should I go to the dealer and have them put them on my new rims? Or can I go to tire discounter or another place. I figured I need to buy 4 of them but does it matter where I go? I was going to mount the tires/wheels myself without the tpms sensors then just drive to where ever I'm going to have them installed. Would that be a concern or will it just show a light on my dash saying they are off? Thanks just wondering my best route to go

I believe you can use aftermarket sensor, about $30 to $50 each. Tire shops should have them or Costco. If you don’t mind the light, just wait until the next new set of tires because they have to remove all the tires to install them. Those sensors last about 10 yrs, more or less.

or you can buy them yourself and have the shop install them. they Need to be programmed to work with your car though.
