I'm still waiting for my VIN. But I saw a screenshot of the build process and dates somewhere. I think it said build, paint, inspection perhaps. I want to use it as a reference. They gave me dates for Aug 7th build and Aug 12th inspection.

That's awesome.. sounds like you have a good store communicating. If schedule holds that a VIN will generate on "paint in" date.. and likely show on failcat the following day.

Thank you in transit sounds exciting maybe that means much earlier than 08/05? I saw they had 2 on the lot who’s VINs populated 8 days after mine so I was hopeful mine was there too. If it wasn’t a state away I would have drove to find out lol

I wonder if someone could provide that info perhaps through a private message (not the actual name). That would be really helpful. I wouldn't have to call a bunch of dealers to ask if a vehicle that I see on failcat is available.

There is one person on this forum capable of doing that and they won't do that for you. You will have to suck it up and make a lot of calls like everyone else. And when you call, heed the message when failcat starts. Why are you doing this? In earlier posts you stated that you had an order....

Yeah I figured. It was worth a try. I do heed the message . I'm doing this because I'm trying to get one before my est. delivery date and perhaps closer to home. Also I'm paying 1k over and if I'm doing that I can also look for ones with the prestige package for a little more if selling for MSRP.

KIA pushes the incoming vehicles onto the dealer websites before the vehicle arrives and most salespeople don't know whats coming. If one interests you, wait until it pops up on the dealers site and then call about it. It won't raise any suspicions.
