I have about 17k on my finance and it has 12k miles... but I kind of want the higher trim. They said they'd give me 37k for it. Is it worth it??

Also is there anything new about the 2022 ones?

37 for an LX? And are you able to turn around and swing an SX at a fair price?
If so, heck yes

Is 50 for SX a decent price

Out the door for a ‘21 or ‘22 base SX, to me, it’s not. But that is a personal decision.
You have to think about the loan you’d carry. While you may have appreciated more in the LX trade, it’s not enough to cover the markup of the SX

as for ‘what’s new’, the ‘22s are slightly different aesthetically, and the lower trims come standard with some of the things that the higher trims had in the 21

Only you can really answer this question based on your personal needs, driving environment, and finances. You are going to get opinions both for and against the SX trim. If you can afford it, the SX offers way more luxuries compared to the LX.
  1. Maybe revisit the question why you bought the LX instead of the SX to begin with.
  2. Look at the features of the SX trim and ask yourself if you need any of that stuff that isn’t on the LX, or if any of the ones you really want are available on one of the other trim levels.
  3. Unless you order MSRP and wait, you are going to be paying markup. Something to think about.

For 2022 the LX and S trims come with auto climate controls and 10.25” navigation head unit standard. Probably the only change worth noting.

To me the EX is the sweet spot. But with the new 2022's the S is a really good value to. You need to dive into the details of the trims and decide what's important to you and worth the money. 37k for your LX seems good.

$37k for your LX is good.

SX is a good value, IF you don't overpay for it.

With all the dealer markups and "market adjustments", some Telly shoppers are paying up to 10k over MSRP just to get a high-demand top trim, especially in AWD.

If you can get an AWD SX trim at MSRP or only a few hundred over MSRP, I might play that game.

There's two moving parts here to consider:

Your LX
A potential SX

If they're willing to buy your LX for $37k and you have something to drive in the meantime AND you can deal with an honest dealership to get on a wait list for a Telly SX at MSRP months down the road, I would do it.

If the $37k is contingent on you overpaying for an SX through the same dealership, then the $37k is no longer looking "good" and your win is negated the second part of the transaction.
