• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Bought a 2020 Telluride a month ago but it took ten days to deliver it to me due to transmission issues. Vehicle had 2 miles on it and had to have a completely new transmission. Should I be worried?

You accepted it? Did they disclose what the issues are?

It's an EX and yes I had no choice but to accept it. Paperwork and loan were done ten days prior to them delivering it to me. After paperwork was done at the dealer, the sales guy took it up the street to fill up with gas and came back saying there was a potential issue with the transmission. Was initially told that it was some sort of celluloid? issue and that it would be a couple of days to fix. Ten days and a completely new transmission later, I received my vehicle. No further contact from the dealer since delivery. Oh.. and upon delivery, we found my roof rack in a box in the trunk. LOL.. They told me I could bring the car back (2 hour drive) and they would install it for free. Not a single contact from dealer or Kia North America since delivery. Buyer beware I suppose..

oh.. and I was given nothing in writing as to exactly what work was done to my brand new vehicle.

I don't mean to sound like a negative Nelly but, this crappy service seems to be very common with Kia dealerships. (maybe not all, but most)

To be fair, my sales guy was great..and felt very bad. and.. I did manage to get an extended warranty upgrade to bumper/bumper for 10 yrs/100k miles.. but still VERY nervous about the lack of information as to the exact issue, exactly what was fixed etc as well as the lack of communication from both the dealer and corporate. I've always been a Lexus/Cadillac guy and the service after the sale has always been top notch. My first experience with Kia has been the complete opposite

I feel you had a choice paying this kind of money for a vehicle. With 2 miles on it that's very tough. Initial inspection usually requires a test drive. Not sure how a sales guy found out putting gas in it.

The vehicle has to go on a 5mile test drive per KIA. At least with our store we have a dedicated route approved by our KIA rep. If they filled up at 2miles... I'm not understanding.

It had 2 miles on it when we saw it pre PDI. It went through the PDI in about an hour and then the sales guy took it to get gas.

Ok. Understood

I thought that all Kia's built at the Georgia plant are taken for a drive on their track in order to sniff out any issues such as this?!?

Yes, I saw the video where the testers take every single one of them out on their track and drive them like a NYC taxi.

I think you should talk to an attorney. The deal could probably be unwound. At the very least, you need to have full disclosure on everything that was done to it.

Brand new 2021 SX AWD, and I'm having what seems to be transmission issues as well. Trying to work through the dealership (and KIA Tech Line) to get it resolved but it's been very very slow and sometimes non-responsive from the dealership. I'm not sure if they're not getting feedback from Tech Line or it's them, the dealership, dragging their feet with fixing it.
