• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Unions

"Instead of building the Telluride, local plants will continue to build the updated version of the large Mohave SUV going forward so there should be no shortfall in work, according to the sources."

This confirms the new larger SUV they've been teasing about .................

I’m always in the side of “regular joe”, no
Matter if they’re from Korea, USA or Bangladesh!

Fair is fair , the Telly was always planned to be produced in the US , the Union knew with full disclosure and signed off so this should be no surprise to them , having said that , if Kia cant keep up with orders a second shift in Korea may be required shorterm but that would really screw up the supply train and logistics...............and costs NA production allows them to keep the costs proportionate with the Domestic competition and maybe a leg up on some imports .

Is this meaning that they are stopping production of the telluride in US?

The answer is no. The article states this happens all the time and never had to stop anything.

The Korean auto unions make the UAW look like weenies.

Basically have striked or done work slow-downs virtually every year.

Hyundai hasn't been able to make much of a dent in the backlog of Palisade orders in Korea, but it took a month of negotiation for the union to agree to increase Palisade production (would only agree if Hyundai cut production of another model).

H/K's factories in Korea are their least efficient plants and have the highest wages.

The Mohave is just the discontinued (here) Borrego - which is undergoing a 2nd/more extensive facelift.

The Telluride is the larger of the 2 (about 5" longer).

The rumored big SUV will be a new model (BoF SUV) that will share underpinnings w/ a proper pick-up.

Would be less expensive for Kia to just add another shift to Telluride production here than to tool another plant.

I agree , but sounds like the US plant is already running 24/7 , I noted in the Mrch sales results that the Sorento is running well ahead of last year so Telly sales have been somewhat incremental ...........good for Kia !
