• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Update

I don’t believe so. I’ve heard owners with the S trim have not been able to successfully update their UVO system. S and LX have the same system, whereas EX and SX share a different version.

Do I need to update my infotainment if I don’t have navigation?
It’s framed as a map update... so the short answer is if you don’t have navigation, then it’s not for you.

There are only a few non-map functions being added, the main one of which is being able to split screen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. But that isn’t a possibility with the 8” screen anyway since it takes up the whole display.

Really, the 8” and 10.25” systems are completely different. They aren’t just two sizes of the same thing. Which is why it won’t work if you don’t have the 10.25” screen.

I have had my SX P/T since May 20th. Ordered the map etc. update on the thumb drive and installed it last week, took about 25 min. I noticed Sunday that the weather no longer has the local digital radio station on it. I touched the screen to see what the settings were but I got a message that said I had to have the UVO customer service to activate that section. Forgot to call them today so will call tomorrow. The information is correct so I guess it is getting the information from UVO link. Anyone else see this?

The weather is no longer using HD radio data since that was largely worthless for the large area in the US/Canada that is not covered by HD radio signals or where that data is not available. For many people, it wound up falling back to displaying your outside temperature as measured by the vehicle. Now it will use your UVO connection to display current and forecast weather information. This will likely rely on you having an active UVO subscription. Good news is, if you have only had yours for less than a month, your trial is just getting started!

Kind of thought that was the case. Thanks for the information.

Kwinn, as bruesjoh04 said go to MapNSoft and put in your information (you will need your vin) and you can order the latest update. I have the problem as stated above with the weather screen and decided to call the UVO customer care center to ask what needed to be activated. The lady I talked to asked me to hold then came back and said they would be sending me a new update that would fix the problem, whatever the problem is. I received the new thumbdrive on the 19th and installed it on the 20th. I still have the same problem so I compared the software versions and they are both the same, 13.41.42.660.202. I have contacted the care center again and they are supposed to get back to me...???

They made the 14 update available again as of today.

Thanks, hope it is a different version. 😁
I think it is and it’s the new version they sent you. Edit: whoops, I see you’re still having the same issue, so who knows. 🤷‍♂️

Talked to the MapNSoft people yesterday and was told that there is a problem with the Telluride head software and that Kia is working on it. Will be getting a new software update as soon as they figure out what is causing the problem and they have a fix.
