• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Does anyone know how many amps the Telluride USB charging ports are rated for? I'm going to assume they are probably only 1a?

I'm used to using the 12v port with 2.4-3a chargers in other vehicles. Are any of the ports listed as always on or charging if the power is off?

I am interested in this as well. Can anyone plug a phone in and at least see if it says "fast charging"? Or maybe go an extra step and check the charging speed with an app? I'm wondering if they are powerful enough to actually do more than trickle charge your phones / devices.

I have a Pixel 4a (android) which uses a usb "C" to charge and I only find it charges rapidly when both ends of the wire are "C". I tried charging it with a wire that's usb on one end (since are no usb "C" outlets in the T) and "C" on the phone end and the phone just said "charging", not "charging rapidly" as it would normally when using a "C" to "C" wire.

Hope this helps!

@Pscoop This is EXACTLY what this thread needed. Thank you!! That's actually not a bad charging rate. Was this is the center usb port for Android Auto / Car Play, or one of the other "charging ports" in the seats or elsewhere? Looks like it's a steady ~4 volts at about 1.5 Amps which equates to about 9 Watts charging speed, which isn't terrible. The max charging speed on your Pixel is 18w, but 9w is respectable and will still charge a phone or iPad at decent speed. (Standard white Iphone brick is only about 5w)

I would guess the Android Auto / Carplay port would actually have a lower charge speed than the other charging ports in the car so I would be interested to know what port these screenshots are from. I pick up my SX-P on Feb 12th, so this is great info to have while I find ways to kill time until then :)

If amps x volts = watts

1.34 x 4.177 = 5.6 watts in the charging port

1.21 x 4.184 = 5.06 watts in the data port

It’s the typical 5W / 1A charging rate.

Crap, yeah my excitement let my math get away from me there. And now I see that he did say which ports he was using. Couldn't see it on mobile the first time. Looks like we get "decent but not great" charging speeds. Your battery shouldn't drain when the screen is on, but charging will be pretty slow overall. I was hoping for more :( Oh well, you can always plug a 60w into the 12v port in the console and use that for charging quickly.
