• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Is it possible to activate UVO for a brand new vehicle without being close by? The tutorial I saw seems to suggest I need to plug in via USB or have location on during the process. I purchased a Telluride in another state. Was wondering if its possible to activate UVO so that when carrier transports the vehicle I could track its journey somehow. If its as easy as just copying an activation code and letting the dealer input it on the vehicle that would be amazing.

Yes, in theory that should work if the dealer is willing to cooperate with you. All you need is the Kia Access app on your smartphone and the activation code on the displayed on the head unit if I remember correctly. No USB connections necessary.

Probably also depends if they keep the car battery terminals plugged during transit, or if they have them disconnected. If disconnected, you won’t be able to see the location of your Telluride.

Yes it is possible. I did this exact thing yesterday because my car shipped from KIA of Muncie and is on its way to Texas. Like you said, you just provide the activation code to your rep at the dealer and they can enter it for you.

I will say that the app is a little buggy when it comes to tracking so don't expect it to be Google maps smooth... it's more like you can ping the car to get status updates along the way.
