• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... 2020 Telluride AWD rear end jerking thumping and vibrating

"In June 2018, Lexus announced that it was recalling around 115,000 model year 2006-2013 IS 350, model year 2010-2014 IS 350C and model year 2007-2011 GS 350 and GS 450h vehicles for fuel pulsation dampers that can harden and crack over time, causing fuel to leak."

I say this is even more dangerous and even more of a shitshow than your Tellyvibie. But, but, but... LEXUS is a reliable brand, KIA sucks!

I have had Sorentos as far back as 2011 (3 of them) all with the same AWD system in them as the Tellurdie has and now the Telluride so far with no AWD issues. It could be an installation issue, could be a transportation issue. It's bad for the ones having this problem, but seems most dont even though blaming it on stupid owners is pretty ignorant IMO. I think we have to wait to see if the problem continues and wait to see what was the actual cause of this.

Telle, yup! Lol.

You're missing the point. Tens of thousands of dollars should = perfect vehicle off the lot and for a good while there after. Yes, a bad apple will escape. That's to be expected when things such as automobiles are made in mass quantity. It should never = multiple vehicles with the same problem right out of the factory or off the trailer.

Sorry I have expectations. That's one of the problems with society today - mediocrity is readily accepted by too many people. "Oh, that's just how it is" does not cut it in my book.

As I said, since 4 of them were from your dealer, probably were brought by the same shipping company, they could have strapped them down wrong. .. you are talking a small amount out of all he AWD's made thus far, so seems to be an isolated incident. We may find out later , but I have yet to own any new car that does not have a recall or two for a known wide spread problem...They all do. You are looking for a unicorn that doesn't exist. Good luck in your search.

Tellmeride,

Toyota is "supposed" to be amazing re: reliability. Our 2009 Highlander was full of problems: oil cooler line burst (common), fuel pump, alternator. Last straw was the transmission. Add to that, the low-profile tires it was spec'd with would go flat of you even thought about buying a box of nails at Home Depot.

I'm not partial to any brand. I think it's safe to say, we all just want a new vehicle to be right and reliable from day one. Reality says otherwise, and that's the shame of it.

I read this entire thread this morning and it freaked me out. I feel terrible for those of you having this problem.

I took our Telluride SX AWD (9-11 build date; factory tow) for a 50 mile interstate drive today varying cruise control speed from 60mph to 80mph. Didn't notice any vibrations or sounds so hopefully ours is good. I'll be taking it on a 3k mile road trip next week and will update at the end of October.

For those with problems don't let up on KIA. They need to fix all of these that have problems. Not only will it preserve customer loyalty it will prevent the resale value from plummeting on the first year model.

Mine is a May 2019 build EX AWD with tow package and self leveling rear. 18" wheels. I have ~5,000 mi so far, with over 3,000 at highway speeds up to 80. Other than our decrepit midwest concrete roads it's been as smooth as a kitten. Agree with @hammick, it truly sucks for those of you having this problem, and just keep riding Kia. I do think they will figure it out and fix the problems under warranty. I've had several misc minor issues and the local dealer (service department) has been nothing but terrific. Good luck.

Had the same vibration issue with my May built Telluride. Brought it back to the dealer for the second time for the issue. This time they fixed it. This is what the did. The tried swapping tires and wheels, still there. They removed driveshaft and had it balanced, still vibrated. The replaced the 4 wheel drive coupler and now its gone. Put over 2500 miles on it since then and smooth, no vibration. They had the car for 2 weeks to do this. They provided a loaner for all this time too. Don’t know if this is everyone’s problem, but it fixed mine.

@Albert Ruiz, thank you for starting this thread. I do not have the vibration issue, but it's good to know there are many Telluride owners with this exact issue that amplifies vibration at 68mph. I think we need to gather up some statistics on owners who has this issue vs. who doesn't. I guess it only affects AWD drivetrain so only AWD owners should vote (not sure if we should specify trim level), and also their vehicle's manufacturing date. Not sure if this requires a new thread?

This post is important. Does this match the other posters successful vibration fix? I think this is just the second fix I have seen on this and other Telluride forums and also the Hyundai Palisade forums I’ve searched for the Vibration issue on.

Somewhere back in this thread we did do that.

Considering an AWD EX Telluride. I've searched this thread with no luck. Any chance someone with this issue can post video with the vibration so prospective buyers might know what to listen for? Thanks!

The problem with this thread is that it’s creating a great deal of paranoia. While I’m certain the issue is real, I’m confident that it’s not nearly as widespread as some would lead you to believe. With that said, if you have a vehicle with this defect, you’ll know. If you find yourself laying on the floor while someone else is driving seeking out the issue, you’ll “find” one.

Has anyone found the problem I only had my S awd for about a week and it started head to dealer soon

Somewhere back in this thread we did do that.
What I meant was to set up a poli. i.e.
For all AWD owners out there, do you experience vibration issue at or near 70mph? If so, what's your vehicle's MFG date?
1) Yes, Apr 2019 or prior
2) Yes, May-Jun 2019
3) Yes, Jul-Aug 2019
4) Yes, Sep-Oct2019
5) No, Apr 2019 or prior
6) No, May-Jun 2019
7) No, Jul-Aug 2019
8) No, Sep-Oct2019

This would give us % of owners who have vibration issues and narrow down when the problem started to occur.
EDIT: I just started a new poll with link to this original thread.

I have been dealing with this issue at my dealer since mid August - it was until Sept 20 that Kia’s Techline gave my dealer instructions to replace the 4 wheel drive coupler - the part just came in - my Telluride goes in tomorrow - I hope as in your case the 4 wheel coupler they ordered fixes the issue - I have not been driving mine much as was concerned about what vibration issue might be effecting - so less than 400 miles on vehicle - definitely did not feel comfortable driving it to Colorado from Texas for our fall trip that we just returned from - but need it fixed before we head back to Colorado in January for skiing.
