VIN not on Failcat but dealership has info

I contacted my salesperson today because I had an ETA for early Sept. 11th. I have been anxiously awaiting my VIN to pop up on failcat. I contacted him this morning to see if he had an update and was told my ETA was pushed back by almost 2 weeks. I was also given a final inspection date (next week) and a ship out date. How common is it that failcat failed to capture my VIN? Or will it pop up any day now? I was busy and forgot to ask him these questions or even ask if he had the VIN.

It is not uncommon for a vin not to show up in failcat. If the vehicle is at the stage your dealer says it’s in they should have a vin. They should be able to provide it fairly effortlessly. Good luck

The VIN is created when the vehicle goes into paint. You should have it any day.
