Waiting like everyone else

Hey all, first time trying a Kia. Was pretty impressed with the telluride so we ordered one with almost every option. We’re really looking forward to getting it, but I’m starting to get a bit suspicious of the dealer though. I’m hoping it just paranoia, but I’m getting the vibe that incoming vehicles are get ”bid out” to those willing to pay more regardless of where you are in line. Was told 6-8 months,”we haven’t had one take longer than 8 months”, but salesman tells me recently he’s got people waiting since last august. I’m not a phd in math, but I’m pretty sure that’s more than 8 months. I’m sure there’s a thread somewhere with delivery updates, I’ll look for it, but if someone has a quick link that would be cool too. Thanks

Who is the dealer? You can go to failcat.com and lookup your dealer to see how many cars they get per month etc.

I’m not trying to trash the dealer because I don’t know for sure, but some inconsistencies make me question when I’ll actually see mine. After some more reading on here I see that they are now charging a markup in line with what they told me I’d have to pay for a canceled order or extra allocation. I guess all their new customers that ordered at msrp can wait now while they cash grab. Build timeframe math still doesn’t line up though. I searched their name here and saw one user ordered within a week of mine and said they got theirs in 6 weeks, that doesn’t add up either. Crazy times for the car buyer!
