If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Placed order for SX-P in 9/2019. Order accepted 2/2020. Delivered 10/2020- 2021 model so I had to pay more but still $500 under the new MSRP.

Got $500 additional rebate for taking a loan- but can’t repay it before 3 months to keep the rebate.

Still wondering why it took so long? The car is nice- but the wait has dampened the joy.

You probably had the very worst timing! They had a 40,000 unit cap on production last year and were hit with unexpected demand. And then they accepted the order just as the pandemic was about to sweep through and shut things down! So if you just wipe out that lost year, you got in on the new model year early and got delivery pretty quick at a good price!

ordered SXL (Canada model) 2nd week of Sept still have no vin or updates on where it is or when we will get it......

Poor timing indeed when the order was finally accepted. Also with Kia trying to push out so many Nightfall trims, with complete disregard for filling backorders as a priority, did not help.

I had to wait about 3 months back in fall 2019 as well, so it was worth it for me. Though it felt like forever at the time. My dealer probably had faster allocations and less orders waiting compared to yours at the time?

Just an FYI, Kia delivered 58K Tellurides in calendar year 2019.
Enjoy the ride.

Pay the loan off as soon as you want. There is no direct impact on your rebate.
Enjoy the ride

I got my Telluride SX-P eight months after ordering. While waiting I tried to come up with an alternate but couldn't. Getting a 2021 for $400 more was worth the wait for the remote start alone. As someone else posted you can pay the loan off as soon as you get your loan account number from Kia. Just call Kia to get your payoff. I did that and got my title about two weeks later. Most frustrating purchase ever but I am enjoying the ride.

Could be. I was going by the industry figures my husband looked up, but I don’t know which figures he looked at. That just speaks even more so to the overwhelming and unexpected demand.

Was there a 2019 model year? Or were those all 2020 sold in 2019? Hard to read.
The chart refers to the calendar year in which the vehicle is delivered not the model year designated by the manufacturer. For example, I have a 2020 Telluride that was delivered in May 2019. Hope that helps.

Enjoy the ride

Some good comparative sales data here. Kia Telluride US car sales figures
Looks like from July - Present 2020 they really ramped up production. I ordered at the end of August and took delivery late October, 53 days later. I was pretty happy with that as I thought for sure I'd be waiting several months.

So while my wait was no where as long as yours, waiting 6 months for mine was definitely worth the wait; considering the other options available. I would do it all over again.

The Telluride was originally slated for ~60,000 units per year, but they announced they would be ramping up to ~100,000 this year due to demand. Obviously, the plant shutdown was not helpful there, but they should be producing now at a rate of at or above 100,000 per year.
