• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... I have a 2020 Telluride. It is just 1 year old. I have never waxed it and it looks great but should I wax it? if yes, with what product and how often

thanks diana

Search for the detailing thread on this forum; lots of info about exterior care. Welcome 👍

I plan to buy/use the Turtle Wax Hybrid Solutions line of waxs/sprays. Lot of good reviews and videos on youtube about them.

You can go to extremes for car upkeep. If you wash your car regularly (hand not car wash), remove accumulated deposits that aren't removed by washing, and then apply a protectant (wax, polymer, sealant, ceramic hybrid......)in a regular time period, you are doing much more than the general car buying population does. If you need to to the next level, you can get crazy with detailing products and devices. I own a vintage Porsche that I used to concurs (and win) and the level of commitment in this forum is way beyond what I witnessed😲 Good for all of you.

Agreed. You gotta do somethings in moderation. Can't be washing your car every weekend. It's cold outside.

I use them and love them. Plus they are not very expensive. I also bought salts gone, to use during the winter months to remove the road slat easily. When It is to cold to wash the car. Www.saltsgone.com

Thanks, I will look into saltsgone. With the turtle wax, do you use the 3-in-1 Detailer as a waterless wash in the winter? I don't know how to wash/keep the car clean in the winter.

Consumer Reports rates Nu Finish better than most and very reasonable price. I used it in the past several years ago and had good results. I also had a 1991 Ford Explorer that was dark blue. It was T-boned by driver running red light and over $13.000 damage. Should have been totaled but wasn't. First shop 1 month repair and it was horrible. Insurance paid to have it redone. Second shop had it for almost 90 days. After it was finished I could see my reflection in it from 40 feet easily. At that point I drove it for 12 more years, 120,000 more miles, washed it weekly, never waxed again and the properly reapplied paint still looked better than when I bought it new. You just never know.

Something to consider, ceramic is an evolutionary change in paint protection. Many of us used to use paint sealants because it was the best thing out there. Ceramic has made sealants practically obsolete. You can go the whole nine yards with a professional coating, but many of the spray on ceramics will last as long as paint sealant between applications.

I'd suggest heading over to the detailing thread where there are a number of great resources there.
