• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... We were so happy to pay off our ‘21 Telly last week, and tonight it’s dead and awaiting a tow.

My wife was driving the car under normal conditions and nothing was acting strange. all of a sudden all of the warning lights came on (no side collision warning, no front collision warning, auto hold disabled etc…), then power steering failed, screen came on saying Check ESC. She quickly pulled over, turned the car off and it won’t restart.

Anyone else have experience with this type of failure of the Telluride?

I’m already bracing for how difficult a warranty claim will be with Kia.

Bereft of any more information...
Belt failure, morphs into lack pf P/S then the battery doesn't charge and the computers fall below 10.6 volts?
At that point they shut off....

Keep us in the loop.

At this point I think it’s the alternator. I was able to jump it with a portable jumper and it started but then it died moments later.
Tried the portable jumper again and everything worked as long as the jumper was connected. As soon as I removed one of the cables, got all the error codes and lost power steering. Was able to drive it onto the tow truck bed and now it’s at the dealer awaiting service.

This happened to my ‘21 but it never could be reproduced after the initial incidents over a couple days.

Drove fine, then suddenly all the alerts on.

I’d pull over, park, restart the car, maybe some of the alerts came on, maybe not.

Thought it was just some kind of electronics bug as the car is well maintained, no issues building up.

After the initial issue, a couple days later, I started it up and took the Telly up to the mountains to go snowboarding for the day. No issues on the way up but when it was time to go and i started the car, alerts again.

I was able to ignore the annoying but superficial visual alerts for most of the 2 hour drive home down the mountain UNTIL the last 20 minute home stretch when the power steering turned off.

Luckily I got home safe, parked, checked the battery, which was fine, made an appointment with KIA and then could never reproduce the issue ever again.

Now the car is out of warranty, went over 100k but never had another problem. Weird
