Were you able to place an Order for SX FWD/Dark Moss/Grey Seats(Not Prestige) ?

We went to a dealership here in North Carolina and were told that they would not be able to place an order for SX FWD/Dark Moss for GREY seats. Salesperson said they tried placing an order and it wouldnt proceed and told BLACK seats are the only option for SX FWD/Dark Moss .
So went to another (relatively smaller) dealership and an Order was immediately placed with our requirements upon paying the deposit.
I was wondering why the first dealer could not accept our request and why the second one did ? Could it be cancelled /not accepted ? Could the second dealer be ignorant ? Or was the first dealer trying to sell us the one that they would be having in their inventory in coming weeks ?

Please help me understand the situation here !

There are many scenarios - the dealer may have Dark Moss with Black interior that is allocated and on the way - and wanted to sell that one. Or, the dealer may have been confused and thought you were looking for grey nappa - which would only be available on the SX Prestige. Also, butterscotch and black leather are listed with black interior - but only difference is a line item on the window sticker - so he may be confused on that point. We are finding that many dealers know less about the vehicles than customers - I had to tell a salesperson what the interior color options were for various exterior colors.

This just seems par for the course with Kia dealerships. As long as you have your order in and an agreed upon price from your current dealer, you should be fine. As kmkia writes above, the color combinations available are listed on the kia.com website. The Dark Moss comes in a grey regular leather interior - I have seen it.

Yes , Exactly , that is what we argued with the first delaer about . And exactly why we went to another dealer to find out /order .

I showed him the website and told him about all the colors offered for SX/FWD Dark Moss. He still insisted that Kia isnt accepting that Combo of SX/FWD/DarkMoss/ Grey Seats so we walked out.

It justifies that He might have one with Black seating on the way and wanted to sell us that .

Spoke to Bob King Kia in Winston Salem and BattleGround Kia in Greensboro.
