  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Thanks to the good info on this forum and relentless use of Failcat, I *think* I am locked in on a new Telluride.

I found the one I wanted via FailCat, contacted the dealer and learned it was available. I said, "I want it!" and placed a refundable $500 deposit.

Then the sales person became a little slow to respond; after I gave my CC# info, no charges got posted to my CC nor did I receive any sort of documentation (for over 48hours). I became super anxious and probably annoying, pinging my sales person asking for confirmation. She finally got back to me today and sent me a pic of the deposit receipt, and a "Deal Worksheet", which shows the full price of the car with all taxes and tags.

However, nothing she's showed me yet links my deposit to the specific VIN of the vehicle we've been talking about. Neither the deposit nor the worksheet reference a specific VIN or stock #.

What should I be asking her to provide that proves the vehicle I want is mine?

And for those curious, it's an SX-AWD w/Tow and Nightfall. I didn't really want to pay extra for NF, but my spouse likes the look and I figured out pretty quick if I was going to get a Telly anytime soon, it would probably have to be be one of these Nightfall editions that were sent out to dealers unordered. It was everything else that we wanted so we swallowed the extra amount for NF and locked it in... hopefully.
