@mdevaney Do you know what kind of tint you are getting and darkness? I just pulled the trigger and did SpecTek CIR and overall I am happy with the film. However, I went 5% on the back side windows, 20% on the back glass and 30% (Texas Law) on the Front Side windows with the Clear Film on the windshield. The front windows look lighter now then when I just had the privacy glass and the window tint on the front and is my only complaint. I know what people do will vary by state but just getting input from others. It does great at blocking the heat but just not happy with the aesthetics of the front windows.

I did front two at 15 everything else 30. Not sure I think 3M. Law is 30 here but I don’t care.

The matte black wrap. Is that to wrap the chrome ?

I'd try to find a way to have quad exhaust tips showing at the rear .. I saw a Hyundai Sonata yesterday that had quad exhaust tips that I'd say, looked just like the flared rectangle ones on the Telluride ... and the pair on the left were mirror images, meaning they flared to the left. Anybody else look into possibly finding a way to add quads ... If something like this didn,t work. I'd find a way to just add some nice looking round tipped quads.

Have you worked with Plastidip before? Are you dipping the letters or the hood and lift gate? Either way, you won't need to remove the letters. Plastidip releases at seams. It's really easy to work with. I'm thinking of blacking out the Telluride lettering on my hood and lift gate with it.

No...honesty this will be my first experience with plastidip. Was originally thinking about removing the letters on the hood then dip the ones on the liftgate. After seeing some pictures, think I'm just gonna leave the front ones, change the badges and dip all of them.

2. Black “KIA” metal valve stem caps
3. Removed “SX V6” badge
4. PlastiDip “TELLURIDE” front and rear badge
5. Window tint: 20% carbon driver & passenger front, 80% front windshield w/ anti glare/99% UV protection/65% heat reduction
6. Stahlbus oil drain valve plug
7. Removed front license plate & bracket

Looks good! Ours came from the dealer with a chrome delete all around and a black wrap on the upper half including the roof (non sunroof LX).


Has anyone found roof racks for the lx or will the roof rails for the other models bolt up?

That’s sharp looking! Had to look twice..looks a lot like a Range Rover with the chrome blacked out!

Not hard. There are YouTube videos on it. Lasts for a few years on most places. I only notice it doesn't last on wheels that long.

How hard is the plastidip for a novice? Expected life span of it?

Plastidipping is surprisingly easy and quite fun! Not dangerous either as it easily comes off if you want it to..check out some YouTube vids, there’s a lot out there.

Life span is said to be a very long time..if it ever gets bad, I’ll just peel it off & redo it..but it should be many years before even thinking about doing that

It was very easy..just heated them up with a hairdryer and carefully got a plastic guitar pick under the letter and it came right up! No hoop or gunk underneath..looks untouched

Thanks! I can’t stop staring at my Telluride..haha! I’ve been going back and fourth with that..not sure yet..I like rocking the Kia badge..but I like the idea of leaving people puzzled when they try to figure out what it is haha...also debating which ones to get IF I do it...not sure yet..I like the idea of the new metal ones..we’ll see
