• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... I am planning to order an EX-AWD with a tow hitch (not the towing package) for carrying a bike rack. I noticed on a sticker I was looking at that there was a Tow Hitch for $475 and a Rear Bumper Protector for $120. Is the protector something that goes over the hitch when not in use to make the bumper more streamlined? Or is it something totally different?

My Acadia has a plastic cover that goes over the hitch when not in use, and that's something I would like to have with my Telly if possible.

Another question: can you order a Telly w/o the Carpeted Floor Mats, or are they mandatory? I'm planning on buying the Husky liners and have them before I have the Telly.

Thanks for any info!

The bumper protector is a ribbed plastic thingy that sticks to the top of the bumper that protects it from scratches when loading or unloading in the back:

I have come across the part that makes the gaps around the hitch look nicer, but I don’t recall its name. I don’t know whether it is included when you order the hitch or it’s a separate order.

You can order the vehicle without any mats.

Does the rear bumper protector (AA019) made of black plastic/rubber fit the bumper on a 2023 SX? When looking at them online the website it states they fit it 2020-2022 models, but I assume the 2023 bumper is the same contour?

The part you are thinking of that goes into the square tow hitch while you do not have anything connected to it is a Tow Hitch Blank Plug.

As for the rear bumper protector, it will probably fit since it looks like the only part of the rear bumper they redesigned was the bottom portion. There are universal ones you can get off of Amazon for a lot cheaper just to lay across the bumper to protect it. they attach with doublesided 3M foam tape. I put one on my old Ford Explorer (https://a.co/d/0ZV0fLe). I’m sure you can find one that will fit the Telluride and save yourself $60ish dollars.

Yea pass on it if you're not always in and out of the rear hatch with a lot of gear/stuff. It's not much money but on the other hand it really doesn't "protect" much. And ours after 2yrs is fading in color quicker than the actual bumper. Starting to look dated quicker than the rest of the vehicle

If you were able to get a '23 Telly with a hitch, let the world know. Not available as far as I know.

Edit: Nevermind. Sorry, didn't see when the original post went up.
