• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... I was driving earlier, and felt something near my foot while I was pressing the brake.. I pulled this guy off the floor. #1 what is it (I think it’s the floor AC vent .. and #2 how can it just fall out ? Also, is it possible to put it back in without contacting the dealer ..?

It does say “floor duct” so I think you are correct about what it is. I checked under my dash and it sits over the gas pedal oriented the way you are holding it with one outlet pointing to the floor and the other pointing toward the drivers side door. I tried to take pictures but it’s hard to make out what it’s attached to or how it connects. Is that a electrical hook up hanging off the bottom as well? Mine is rock solid so it was either not connected right from the factory or you have some seriously big feet to have knocked it off.

Lol thanks so much for going out of your way to help me out ! Since my feet are a pretty normal size 10.5 I think it’s the first option haha, I have an appointment with Kia tomorrow morning as it’s covered by warranty. Also a friend of mine said to not bother trying myself in casebook they turn around and just say that I broke it trying to install myself.. but seriously thanks again

No problem. I wear a 13 and don’t touch it when driving so I think you’re correct and they just missed it on the assemble line. Let us know how things go with the dealer!

Hey! Update: Kia service was very accommodating and apologetic (even though they didn’t build the car lol) it turns out the reason why it fell down was because the original screw that hold the vent in place was actually never installed.. So this vent was just hanging on for dear life until the day it fell out, which could have become a much more serious issue if it got wedged behind my brake pedal with no where to go. Gladly it was fixed within a half hour and I was out of there!

Glad they fixed it so easily and thank you for letting us know the resolution. A lot of times these things get posted but there’s no follow up.

Thanks for posting this. It just happened on my new 2021 EX.
