  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Semi-new here, or at least new as a Telluride owner. We just got our non-compromised, call-35-dealers SWP/Butterscotch/AWD SX a few weeks ago at MSRP from Mark Martin Kia in Batesville, Arkansas. We live just outside of San Antonio, Texas.

For us, we just had our first child, so the Telluride replaced a Subaru Crosstrek. Good vehicle, but was small, and we needed more space. With one kid, it made sense to get a three-row SUV because I live in America and can do what I want. :ROFLMAO:

(Slight aside: Maybe it's not the same for everyone, but Carvana was a GREAT selling experience since we couldn't trade in the Crosstrek as we bought the Telluride a few states away without ever seeing it. They gave us about 3k more than I expected for trade-in and it's laughably easy, so it's worth checking out.)

The Telluride was "for my wife." I do most the driving, so let's be honest, it was for me, but she's super happy with it. My daily driver is a slightly lifted 2010 Toyota Tacoma that's paid off and will likely never die.

I also have a 1981 Camaro Z28 that was my baby for years, but ultimately got neglected and needs some love before she's road-worthy again. I'm not in a rush, though... I'm giving it to my son, if he wants it. He better want it. Damn kids today with their iPads and ungratefulness. He's already over ten weeks and hasn't shown any interest, so I'm concerned a bit. He's puked in the Telluride so he clearly has shit taste.:ROFLMAO:

What about you? What's your vehicle story? How'd you end up here?

Congrats on getting you Telly. I placed an order for one a few weeks ago and got an 8 month delivery date... so have to be patient. So I ended up here after doing TOO much research on YouTube about the Telly. Our leased Odyssey expires in Feb 2021 so we started to do research about 3 months ago in preparation. My wife's dream is to get a luxury SUV (Audi, Acura, Volvo, etc). She also didn't want to get one that was very used or old, maybe less than 2 years. But when we did the research, we found that those cars are way too expensive (surprise surprise). I found the Telly and fell in love. It had almost everything that those others had AND MORE... The only problem that I ran into was my wife's perception, "Oh, it's a Kia... I can't sit in that!" It took several discussions (and a lot of prayer) and she finally came around to it. So we placed an order a few weeks ago for an SX-P in Everlasting Silver/Dune Brown.

Likewise, its "her" new car but let's be real here! Haha I did not have to convince her on the Telluride tho for obvious reasons. Looked at the Acuras, Traverse and Palisade and for us the choice was obvious. Knowing that the blood was only getting worse in the water last fall instead of clearing up, we decided to order ours end of December. Just got it a few weeks ago. This model has really shown us what supply and demand is all about even during a global pandemic.
With the second kid being born we had to get out of her Prius stat. It served us well and we're keeping it for a second vehicle for commuting between the two of us for the next couple of years. The Carvana offer on it was far more tempting than the dealer's disrespectful offer on it but we're selling my Acura TL Type-s instead. I too kept my initial car, an '86 IROC-Z 😎 GL with yours

Stone Oak resident here. Nice to see other San Antonio (area) folks on here. For us - the Telluride we ordered in January will replace my wife's 2011 Honda Odyssey. We hope to receive it next month. The Telluride will be our first KIA.

Nice! My sister is out that way, we're actually in Cibolo. I can't wait to wave at every Gray Telluride hoping it's you. 😂

Our Telluride (when it ever gets here) is replacing a 2007 Hyundai Santa Fe that I bought new while on a business trip to Huntsville, AL. I love that car but it now has 318k miles and is in need of some major engine work so it was time to change. Other cars: BMW Z4 (wife's toy), C5 Corvette Coupe, a 1978 Triumph Spitfire and my precious:
