In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... What's the average markup in your area? Any dealers in the San Francisco Bay Area selling for close to MSRP?

Hey guys and gals, I was curious what the average markup seems to be for the Telluride where you live.

I've been eyeing the Telluride for a while, it's been winning Car and Drivers lists for a few years now, and now my wife needs a new car (hers is burning a quart of oil every ~600 miles) and likes it.

We're looking at the SX with AWD and would prefer Nightfall edition but that's not a deal breaker as we're in a rush.

The Winn dealership in Fremont is charging a $10k markup which is ridiculous but they still have no problems selling the cars within days of receiving them. People are still putting down deposits. We've called other local dealerships but they're coy on the markup expecting us to come in. Anyone in the area (we're willing to drive 150 miles) know of any local dealers selling for relatively minimal markup? Thanks.

$10K markup is rookie numbers. In Florida, it's $15K to $20K.

If you want MSRP I suggest ordering from a high volume dealer like Peak Kia in Colorado or Arapahoe Kia and waiting 4-8 months.

I did see a person on FB with an SX that she was going to abandon - it was from Arapahoe.

I ordered from Peak Kia North near Denver in October of 2021 in order to pay MSRP. Received my EX on March 14th. I'm located in the Bay Area and had zero luck finding any dealer willing to order at MSRP. Most that had inventory on the lot were 6K-10K over with the SX's all being at the high end of the markups. My Kia in Salinas sells at MSRP (at least they did last fall) but they are such a low volume dealer that they only get a few Tellurides in per month. I just checked their website a few minutes ago and they have zero new kias on their lot. Unfortunately, this is the reality we're all facing.
