If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... When are 2021s going to be available?

Thanks. That said - the guys on this forum that have been tabulating data can see and have shared. Based on the last 49 days...they have yet to hit the 80K/year mark - much less the 100K/year mark. My money is that transition will be tied to the 2021 model. You guys can laugh all you want - but my personal opinion is that there would be a huge marketing advantage for KIA to be able to capitalize on the summer selling season by marketing their full line up of 2021 models...to include the Telluride.
Could very well be true.

Im old fashioned and more than happy to settle for last year’s technology 😂.
We had Seltos training today. KIA brought a Honda HRV as well. It's pretty crazy how KIA just kicked this vehicle to the curb. The Turbo SX is a night and day difference compared to the Honda.

Reasons for thinking the 2021 Telluride drops this summer rather than the fall:

'21 Seltos just launched (all new)
'21 Sorento will launch this summer/fall (all new)
'21 Cadenza will launch this summer/fall (refreshed)
'21 Sedona will launch this summer/fall (refreshed)
'21 Optima will launch this summer/fall (all new)

Why muddle the launches above with a newly dropping '21 Telluride in the late summer/fall timeframe? Plus with these long waits continuing for a car that launched in March 2019 - and with the all new Toyota Highlander launching now - it would be to KIA's advantage to have the '21 Telluride arrive this summer as they ramp up production to 100K/units a year. Plus with so little inventory on lots of the 2020's - KIA wouldn't even have to really discount the last model year at all to clear the 2020's. It isn't an issue of having to keep interest up - it is about evenly spreading out model changes over the next six months.

Finally - the sooner they launch it, the sooner they can address owner complaints that have built up over a few small issues - like the lack of a remote start on the key fob. They can also introduce new trim packages to keep the margins higher. I for one would love to see the digital dash come to the prestige package...and would pay extra for it. All I can say is if the 2021's are announced before an allocation gets picked up, @StephenCantrelle will be getting a call from me to get me first in line on a 2021.

I expect an announcement at the New York Auto Show at the latest.

Unrelated...I see you have a 2014 Chevy SS. I too have an SS, a 2015 with a manual transmission. And I have a Telluride SX-P/T on order. What part of the country are you in?
I got my SS that first year (14) before they offered a manual... but it’s still pretty sweet! Probably my favorite car that I’ve owned so far. I’m in Springfield, MO.

Cool - appears we have similar taste in cars. I see you have a Telluride and a Palisade. Which is the best in your opinion?

Typically, K/H don't do early launches unless it's for an all-new model or F/L, but there's a case for an earlier launch of the 2021MY Telluride.

Since the Sorento, Optima and Telluride are all built at Kia's GA facilities - they may decide to switch-over to the 2021MY at the same time they are retooling for the new Sorento and Optima.

But one thing that may be in the way - is that the Sorento and Optima are being underpinned by a new platform whereas the Telluride won't switch-over til the next gen.

He answered this question a few days ago in a prior post... of course it could have changed!

I would have thought that the KIA Georgia plant ran multiple lines. They could keep the Telluride line going while they updated the line that manufactures the Optima...but maybe I am wrong. Anyone that works at or has seen that plan able to confirm?

There of course were a bunch of posts on the plant. They run the Sorento, Optima and Telluride in the same lines over and over. They have shifted to more Tellurides... but lines are shared. Look forward to Jason's visit and update.

If they do what you are thinking, then there is next to no reason to wait to place an order because the car isn't going to change much. They will likely add a package or two and they may rearrange some of the options to have a few more packages with the likely big change a blacked out Telluride. The blacked out car would be awesome but it's not what I'd be purchasing. I would also guess the '21s will come with an upward price adjustment not just on the car but on the packages as well.

So 20 or 21, it's not going to make a difference for 95% of people and the 21 will likely cost more.

Correct.

Agreed - which is why I have an order placed now. If nothing is announced before my car gets assigned an allocation - then I will happily pick up my 2020 SXP in May/June.

Excellent!! All of us Georgia people with a Muncie order will be waiting by the back gate so you can slip us our rides! “Psst! Hey yo Jason, grab the black one... no no not that one, the other one with the Dune Brown interior!”

I'll be curious on your tour if they talk about when production of the 2021 Sorento and Optima will begin. Now that those cars are public information and have been revealed...I would think they might share that information if it is soon.
