I am hoping that the buzz calms down. When will the prices for these cars start going down especially for the SX version?

You used to be able to buy a KIA at well below MSRP but that is not the case with this car. Maybe if they increase production to 12K a month that might help with prices.

Welcome your thoughts.

Yikes, I cannot believe these are going for over MSRP in the current economic environment we are in.
I just dont think a std production vehicle should be fought for.

Good looking car, a lot of accolades, low production numbers (100k/annually) and it all adds up to high demand and near MSRP or higher prices.

Agree on the accolades, long term reliability give me a little concern. Current Honda, Toyota and Subura owner so I have high expecatation and keep my vehicle for a long time

I'm no economist, but the law of supply and demand are in play here. It is possible to get one at MSRP, but remember that MSRP is just a suggested price. I was able to get a 2020 Telluride last year and a 2021 Telluride this year both at MSRP from 2 different dealers. They happen to have them on their lot and I just got lucky. By the way I traded my 2020 EX for a SX-P.

The reality is that Kia underpriced the Telluride relative to demand and their production capacity. My money is on Kia implementing a material price increase in the next year or two with a refresh or sizeable reconfiguration of standard equipment/trims.

The EX in Everlasting silver was a great car, but the SX-P in Black Copper is awesome.

Sounds like a downgrade in color to me 😜

Haha. Actually Green Moss SX-P\Nightfall with Dune brown was my preference, But found the 2021 Black Copper SX-P on the lot and got it at MSRP and they gave me $38,300 for my 2020 EX. Couldn't pass it up.

Just messing with ya, hard to go wrong with most of the Telluride colors. Congrats.

Based on their history the base prices won't swing that much at all - even in a complete refresh.

What they will likely do is drop another "edition" - like Nightfall to make more money on it.

The last thing you do if your KIA is take an SXP well equipped for 50k and turn it into 60k within a year or two - it will take some time for them to stairstep.

It already does sell below MSRP - depends on your dealership. Mine sold $400 below even when they had over 60 customers on the wait list - no money down either.

I could see them doing what Hyundai did with the Palisade when they removed several features from the previous Limited trim and moved them to the all new Caligraphy trim and charged more.

Two dealers will sell below MSRP

Muncie IN Kia - Costco pricing I think it depends on trim level
Superior Kia in Cincinnati - $1,000 off ordered units

Kia might begin selling LX or S below MSRP at some point, but I don't think that'll happen with EX or SX. If anything, I think it's more likely SX and SXPs get a little price bump, or they drop a new trim above SXP that includes more features and a higher price point. If you want an EX or SX, get one at MSRP and count it as a victory

I agree with the sentiment expressed here. MSRP might creep up slowly and you might see some sales below MSRP when that happens. But what really matters is NOT how much above or below MSRP you get it for. What matters is the net price to the buyer. If they raise MSRP and then sell at a slight discount, the buyer's net price might be higher even though they're below MSRP. Kia set MSRP at a pretty low point for this vehicle, so buyers are wise to focus on net price relative to alternatives rather than worrying about a perceived MSRP discount deal.

Thought I read somewhere that in order to buy from Superior you had to be from OH. Could be wrong but people should validate that.

Not true, although I am from a neighboring state. I went with Muncie as it was a better discount. Someone else has posted on here from the DC area who said they ordered and will be flying in to pick up.
