If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Who are these people that are paying $10k over MSRP for a USED EX with 25,000 on the clock, and thinks they are SAVING $1,250? WHO?!

Remember all the people that are excited to get as much as they paid for their Telluride USED? They are getting ridiculous trade ins or even outright buys of their used cars right now. The companies/dealers paying these inflated trade ins are counting on reselling them at silly high prices. This is how it works.

The dealer near me had four brand new ones, priced $10,000 OVER MSRP. The next day, they were all sold. They also had two used Tellurides, both over MSRP. They sold them first.

This craziness will continue until people STOP paying these inflated prices. Its hard to me to blame the dealer. They are there to make money. And if they can easily get an extra $10,000 OVER MSRP out of a car, they are going to do it.

As I told the sales person at that dealer, "if I have to drive across country to find one not marked up, I will do it. I enjoy a road trip!"
I align with and support this philosophy. We ordered out of state.

This vehicle was definately sourced from Canada. Good luck getting Kia to honor the factory warranty here in the US. https://www.carfax.com/VehicleHisto...ZILQPKEPHCfbsQImAlbROPAiGgke5xPdLHzaORfzYggic
Great point about the warranty. These are the absurdities at one of the dealers here in OR. The “dealership price” posted isn’t even what they’re listed for once there. Most were marked up $7k or more atop those listed prices. A couple also originated from Canada and were sold at auction in MI. Some of them have 31,000-48,000 miles on them.

I admit to being complicit to the insanity. I’m selling my 2016 Ford Focus ST tomorrow (highest trim model - yes, that’s a thing, even with Focuses. Focusi?🤣) for $2,800 less than I bought it for new almost five years ago. I just don’t get it. @TellurideT and I are paying MSRP for our SXP-NF from I-25 CO, which is more than I’d normally pay for a new car, but these aren’t normal times and the higher price of buying new is offset by the crazy ROI I’m getting on my five year old econo hot hatch. 😬

Hmmm, so I just ordered a 2022 SX Limited (in Canada; similar to USA SX + Prestige) for CAD$55488 (~USD$44390). My dealer told me that I'm getting a heck of a deal since this car sells for CAD$59990 (~USD$47992). Yeah I'd be expected to pay $499 "Doc fee" on top of that, but it seems it's way below MSRP? When it arrives I'm also going to make sure that I'm getting CAD$4502 off the window sticker, or I'll take them to court to sell me one at that price. :)

What other options? An SXP here in the US with no other add-ons is $48,115 as attached below.

There are some dealers that are selling off the MSRP + a $695 dealer handling fee which is about the lowest you can find before getting into the “market adjustment” territory of $2995 and above.

I'd like to see how this conversation shifts when they announce the refresh model, possibly as early as next year. I'd be interested in trading ours in for it if these insane prices remain.

I've been feeling the same way but the next years model doesn't seem to have many changes or "refresh" that would make me consider it.

There's a few photos floating around with new front and rear fascias. 2023 the Telluride may look different.

Typically I wouldn't be interested in trading in a car less than 2yrs old for a refresh model but if you could get your money back on that 2yr old model you'd have to be pretty stupid not to. These are depreciating assets and these inflated prices will end eventually.
