• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... My 2021 Telluride starts most of the time, but there times it doesn't. All the proper lights on the dash light up, but the engine doesn't crank and is silent. After repeated attempts of stepping on and off the brake pedal with pushing the start button, it will start. Probably only happens 5-10% of time. In the month of January it's occurred about 10 times. Anyone have any ideas.

My 2023 Telly does the same thing. Regular mx is done. Dealership has had it in to check it out and it doesnt replicate the issue when the mechanic is looking at it. Has had ALOT of other issues.....fuel pump died, door handle sensor died, battery had to be replaced....all in the first 18 months.

this happens to my 2022 also. Had it towed to the dealer. they had no logical answer. They said a starter wire was loose, they tightened it and all was well for a while, then 2 weeks later I couldn't start it and left it in a parking lot all night, next morning it started, very frustrating!

Poor ground wire connection between the engine and the chassis?

my 2022 just failed to start again. It's in the parking lot overnite for the 2nd time in 2 weeks, getting it towed to the dealer tomorrow....GRRRR!

My 2021 does this exact same thing.
About 3 months ago, it started happening almost every time I tried to start it.
I ordered a new starter. While I waited for it come in, the alternator went out.
I changed them both out and put a new battery in.
I had zero issues again.... for 3 months.
Then the starting issue came back. The starter I put in was remanufactured, so I got another one, thinking I must have gotten a bad one. With the second starter installed, it didn't start the very first time I tried. I've been trying to figure out the issue for 3 days straight. Today it did great, thought I fixed it...... nope.

I think it's a ground issue somewhere. But I can't find where. Every time I think I've figured it out, I'm stuck somewhere again.
Beyond frustrating.

I have a 2022 sx and have been having this same issue for 10 months. It will intermittently not start. Sometimes at a stoplight or sometimes when it’s parked at a store or in my garage. It takes between 2-25 minutes to start up again. The dealer can’t replicate it and said they’ve checked the battery, starter, and everything is working fine! I think I have to sell this car!
