If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... I have been keeping an eye on failcat for LX AWD models and I have not even seen a single one of those for the last 7-8 days . Most of the dealerships I called said lx comes early and sx has the highest wait time . But from failcat it looks like ex and sx are flying of the factory with very few lower model trims . Am I missing something?

The EX and SX are more expensive and likely have a better profit margin for Kia so since they can’t make enough of any Telluride to meet demand (chip shortage, global supply chain issues, etc.) and can sell whatever they make quickly, they’re making more EXs and SXs.

There were 70 lx awd allocated to tx in August. But I only see 2 for this month and it's almost end of month :( not sure if it's a good or bad thing.

@StephenCantrelle by any chance do you have any insights on why there would be such a low count of lx awd ? I understand that it's usually done in batches but I am just worried that the trend is extending for the whole month .

LX AWD percentage of total production is on the lower end. Especially if in TX area. Wish you the best of luck on turnaround time. I am at a fairly large dealer with above average allocation and haven't had a LX AWD in months.. I hope dealer you ordered from has had LX AWD in the recent past.

Given demand, if I were KIA, I'd make as many of the cars I make the most money on, and fewer of other models. Plant capacity is usually units per day. More high margin units and fewer lower margin units is the way to go.

Whether this is what KIA is doing, I do not know.

Soon I hope! Keep us posted!
How long were you told? I was told 3-4 months in CT. My dealer said EX and SX take a bit longer...I also looked in failcat... all of the production for the LX AWD seemed to happen at the beginning of the month. I'm hoping it's just because they are building them in "batches". Of course, now I will look obsessively everyday...
