Wife is worried the car is "too complicated"

So I have ordered an SX NF, AWD with Tow pachage (Non-Prestige) model. When I show my wife YouTube videos of the car being demonstarted, with all of it's tech-features, she complains that it's too complicated and she worries she won't know how to drive it!

It can basically drive itself with Smart Cruise control. Enjoy it. Most modern vehicles today have just as many tech features. It's just important to spend time with the tech manual that comes with the vehicle. Don't fret too much over these things. At the end of the day, it's still a vehicle that functions like the ones you've been driving for 40+ years.

My wife is one of the most tech-averse people I know. I'm sure she will not have any problem just driving the car, but she probably won't be getting into the "menus" to explore all the features.

If she knows how to drive any automatic car, she can drive the Telly. Shift lever, steering wheel, gas and brake pedals are pretty much as standard as it gets.

The only thing she may need to get used to are the saftey warnings (ie blind spot, lane departure, rear cross traffic). This car will also actively steer the wheel to follow lanes and keep you centered in your lane by default, so make sure she knows all this or disable the features if she doesn’t want to adapt.

Lastly, make sure you show your household what will set off the rear occupant alert system, or just disable that feature. It is the number one question from all new owners. “why is my car alarm going off while I’m shopping!?”

I was driving a 1998 Lexus prior to buying my Telluride a week ago. My Lexus didn't have a single button on the steering wheel, it didn't even have a CD (it was in the glove box as a separate box). Telluride is very easy to drive and that's all she needs to start. Little by little she will open manual here and there and it will all make sense eventually. I was and still a bit intimidated with all the features but I like it so much that I am okay with it. Also any time my husband is with me when I am driving he will just start reading the manual so we learn stuff together.

I went from 2004 Hyundai to a 2021-S. Big, big changes in technology! The Hyundai had a radio and a single CD player. I've had to spend some time with the manuals looking up what button does what, but the bottom line is it is just a car with go, stop and steer.

I went from a 2008 Infiniti to a Telluride last week, and the leap in technology/features is stunning. The one thing that sort of helped is that earlier this year I had rented a car and was given a late-model Optima which also had some of these same features. The active steering is great on the highway, but I am not totally sold on it being on when I'm just driving to the grocery store or whatever. Apparently, I tend to drive a little on the right side of the lane and the car keeps wanting to bring me more toward the center line.

My wife is anti technology as much as you can get and has the SX prestige and can manage it all easily now. Just showed her all the bells and whistles and what they do,.
