  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Does the Telluride come with the back windows (including cargo area) tinted from the factory? Or is that something the dealers do once the vehicle arrives to their lot? I have heard varying stories.

Tinted from factory. Since it's classified as a SUV, the rear windows are legally allowed to be tinted.

Is it a tint film like a tint shop would do? Or is the glass itself darkened somehow where there is no tint film to worry about damaging somehow?

The rear glass is darkened, like any other minivan or SUV.

If I'm not mistaken, it's 35% tint from the factory. Can't speak to whether it's tint film or the physical glass.

I've tinted every car I've ever purchased and on the SUVs, 20% film always matches the factory darkened rear glass.

Not saying you're wrong, by any means. The 35% figure was given to me by Lucas at Muncie.

In fact, if I'm wrong, let me know and I can push it to Lucas so he knows, too.

I'm not sure! I've gone to the same tinting shop since 2005 and he's always used 20% on suvs! I'm no expert, just reporting on my experience!

Here's 35% on my Buick Lacrosse

Minnesota has a 50% law.

Not sure if I’m going to tint or not.
