Window trim flaking - Exp NF trim flaking off

Y'all can always DIY NFE with better results than OEM NFE, then peel it all off later when the trendy "chrome delete" fad eventually ends 🤣

Curious any update. Mine is not peeling but has changed. I will goto dealership this weekend but seeing what they said to you. I'm at 5k. First pic is passenger front door with issues and then passenger rear door with no issues.

Wow looks like it’s spotting. I wouldn’t be a happy camper is this was happening as well. How they do by it right and have it fixed.

What part of the country do you live in? That may have some bearing on what is happening to you painted area. I'm just saying.....

You know the crazy part of this is this is an SUV with some pretty rugged looks. Pictures of it riding through the desert in the brochures. And now if you wash it like an everyday car and not like you 70 year old hand washed concurs Ferrari, you will damage it. Just ain't right. 😔

Have you contacted the dealership yet? I’ve had the same issue just happen today! I’ve had my telluride for 3 months.

Glad they got right on it! Will it be covered under your warranty? I took mine to the dealership Friday. They took pictures to submit to Kia corporate to determine whether “ it’ll be covered under my warranty”. I told them it should! It’s 3 months old and happened after a touch free car wash.
 
Just took my 2021 Night Fall edition to the dealer where I showed Kia district manager this thread. Kia replaced my blacked out trim under warranty. I have 6975 miles on it now almost12 months old. The dealer told me this was a one time deal and acted like Kia was doing me a favor. I have 2 calls into Kia Customer service with no call back yet; trying to confirm that it will be covered if it happens again.

My Telluride is garaged kept and has ceramic coating since new. I use No Rinse wash liquid and hand wash my car according to my ceramic installer’s instructions.
If Kia claims hand washing with No Rinse is the cause to deny future claims, I will need that in writing.
The trim replacement is a pain as they have to replace the 2 rear windows as the trim is attached to the glass
 
So what you guys are really saying is that the worst part of owning the NF isn't the wheels?!?! 🙃

On a more serious note this is pretty $hitty to go thru. Not sure why some dealers are even second guessing this for warranty replacement. Makes me feel better about buying an extended warranty if KIA balks. Guess we'll cross that bridge when it comes. GL to all for replacements

I just noticed the same thing today on mine. 2021 SX Black Nightfall Edition. Shouldn’t this be covered under warranty??
