• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... We are all aware of the issues with the window trim on the Tellurides. I am on my third set now on my 2021 Prestige NF Edition. First two sets the finish peeled off, now the third set is falling off the vehicle. My wife’s 2024 Prestige X-Line has window trim falling off. We have two friends with 2023 and 2024 with window trim falling off.
Has anyone discovered a way to temporarily successfully reattach the trim until it can be replaced? I have used double-sided Gorilla glue outdoor 15lb tape but it was bit too thick and the first time thru a touch-less car wash it came loose.
BTW it has been 6 months since dealer has ordered my wife’s window trim and still no ETA.

I own a flooring store and sell a moisture cure urethane caulk that I sell for sealing tile shower systems. I glued mine back on using that sealant over a year ago and haven't had an issue since. The dealership has had my replacement trim on order over a year and it hasn't arrived. My Telly is a 2023 SXP-X-Line and I take it through the brush car wash about once a week.

Would you mind sharing the name of that sealant you used.

I had one piece coming loose when purchased and the service tech said all the others also needed replaced. They have been on order only about a week, but it sounds like I may be waiting for a while.

New owner, 1st I've heard about this issue
Which trim is being discussed, any pictures to share,.................thanks..
.

The only trim I have had come loose is the driver side door, but others seem to be having issues all the way around.
If anyone needs the Elastiseal Pro, let me know and we can figure something out.

The trim on mine is the exterior door trim at the bottom of the window.

Same here. It looks like it was stuck on with double sided scotch tape.

I just got a call that mine are in after waiting 6 months. I'll try reattaching on my own if it happens again

2023 X-Pro. Our front passenger exterior trim came off in a carwash this week. They told me that it is a known issue, they would not cover replacement, and Kia had a recall on it. I had called the parts department regarding replacement. They said it would be at least 2 weeks before a new one could be ordered in, but didn't mention a recall. Still investigating if there is a recall. May have to call service. Anyone know of a recall?

KMiles, thanks for posting the TSB. It only mentions the driver's door. The front passenger side trim is what has come apart on me. Has this TSB expanded to include other lower trim other than the driver's trim? There is barely any adhesive on the front passenger trim piece that separated? Thanks for any additional information anyone can provide.

I went back and looked and this is the only TSB for the trim on Alldatadiy.

My new trim pieces were installed and thankfully the mechanism appears to be different now. There's a little latch, not just glued on. we shall see...

Any picture of the new part showing the minor change that was made?

It’s the most stupid engineering on these trims. The trim itself has a very thin plastic film on it kinda like a screen protector. It just peels right off. Was talking to the service advisor the other day and I asked him about the problem with fading trims. He said that there was only a 12,000 mile warranty on those.

You should ask him to show you that 12,000 warranty in writing.
