• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Wireless Android Auto

🤖 AI Summary

No AI summary has been generated for this thread yet.
There has never been any documentation to suggest that any Telluride has wireless Android Auto (or CarPlay) from the factory, so not sure why you were expecting that.

But Bluetooth audio continues to work great for things like Spotify if you don’t want to plug your phone in to get AA (or buy and wait for an adapter like this).
Phew! Man that almost gave me a heart attack. The thought of having to connect a cable just to listen to my music...

Now, what is it about this Indiegogo project? I see on Amazon there's already boxes that are supposed to do what it does.

The thing I linked to is the first (and as far as I’m currently aware, only) adapter to enable wireless Android Auto. I still don’t think the production version of it is even shipping yet.

All of the other adapters on the market are only for enabling wireless CarPlay (for iPhones).

If you carefully read the descriptions of anything that you’re probably referring to on Amazon, you’ll see it’s not actually going to help you if you have an Android phone.

You're right, it needs for the car stereo to already be an Android one or something, right? Yeah. Well, I'll continue to be happy with my phone mount I guess. :) Thank you for clarifying.

If someone wants to try Wireless Android Auto, but the car doesn't support it, you could try a special adapter like Carsifi
It works on all head units which supports wired Android Auto. The connection is pretty stable and there is no difference compared to wired. In case if you have a wireless charger is a big advantage, because wireless connection(Wifi) + Bluetooth(not Ble) drain the battery.
Just went through their page, these guys aren't ready yet. I put my email there, let's see if they will come with anything soon.

I saw someone else already mentioned AAWireless. It's supposed to be shipping this month and I'm on the list, will let the forum know how it performs.

Will wait for your feedback.

The developer of AAWireless has been working on Android Auto for a long time now. I have his apps on my Android devices. Through his apps, I was able to have Android Auto on my car's unit, and actually it connects wirelessly, so no wonder he came with this device.

Not sure I understand, you're saying you got wireless AA on your head unit without his device, only with his app? Surely there's something missing there, namely the Wi-Fi link...

I used his app on my other car, where an Android unit is installed. The unit has a WiFi.

+ 1
Yes please!

++1!!

I would even upgrade to the new purple interface if they added AA widescreen support. For me, AA has been something of a disappointment. It's not terrible, but it's also just not very compelling. But I feel that widescreen support with the new split-screen feature would be a game-changer. It's kinda sad that widescreen isn't already supported.

I just ordered the AAWireless device. Expect to get it in April. I use a cable now and my kids control the songs. I would rather have this wireless option. Will let you know how this works out...

I am confused. The online manual describes AA wireless setup.
Even I was confused when I saw it in the manual. But it seems like the manual is intended for all KIA cars generally. I believe they just throw all possible information available regardless of feature available for your unit or not. I guess it was intended for Kia Sorento which currently has wireless AA.

I just got one this weekend and it works great!

Just for grins, what was your contribution number? I'm waiting, and mine is 48069. Might be another long wait!

Probably not what you want to hear, but my contribution number is in around 27k (purchased in March with June estimated delivery) and it's not here yet.
